Nasceu na zona norte do Rio de Janeiro. Ainda criança, transferiu-se para a cidade de Aracaju (Sergipe). No início dos anos de 1980, começou a estudar violão no Conservatório de Música de Sergipe. Recebeu os títulos de Cidadão Aracajuano e Sergipano pela Assembléia Legislativa de Sergipe e pela Câmara Municipal de Aracaju, respectivamente. Em 1982, classificou "Madrugada" entre as primeiras colocadas no Fsmpb - "Festival Sergipano de Música Popular Brasileira", realizado em Aracaju, numa promoção da TV Sergipe, canal 4, retransmissora da Rede Globo de Televisão. No ano seguinte, participou do "Festival Universitário da Canção", em Blumenau, Santa Catarina. No ano de 1984 ganhou o prêmio de "Melhor Intérprete" com a música "Fim de primavera", classificada também entre as quatro primeiras no "Festival Estudantil Novo Canto", promovido pela Fundação Estadual de Cultura. No ano seguinte, na reedição do festival, classificou entre as quatro finalistas outra composição de sua autoria "Trem do destino". Em 1988, participou ao lado das cantoras sergipanas Joésia Ramos e Amorosa, na Sala Funarte Sidney Miller, no Rio de Janeiro, do "Projeto Pixingão", seletiva nacional para o "Projeto Pixinguinha". Sendo escolhido para representar o Estado de Sergipe no Projeto Pixinguinha, no ano seguinte, juntamente com Biafra, apresentou-se no Teatro Nélson Rodrigues, no Rio de Janeiro, em Foz de Iguaçu (RS), Florianópolis, Blumenau e Cascavel (SC). No ano de 1990, lançou pela gravadora Polydisc o LP "Cor de laranja". O disco, com distribuição nacional pela gravadora CBS, teve show de lançamento em outubro do mesmo ano na Casa de Espetáculo August's, em Aracaju, com a participação especial de Xangai. Transferiu-se para Salvador, em 1992, onde no mesmo ano recebeu indicações para o prêmio Troféu Caymmi, na categoria show, por seu espetáculo "Cor de laranja", respectivamente: "Melhor Produção", 'Melhor Composição" pela música "Desculpe o modo", ganhando o prêmio de "Melhor Intérprete", disputando com nomes consagrados da música baiana, como Ivete Sangalo, Daniela Mercury, Andréa Daltro e Dionorina. No anos seguintes, fez temporadas em casas noturnas e teatros no Rio de Janeiro: Jazzmania, Teatro do Sesc da Tijuca, Espaço Cultural Pescadas na Ilha do Governador e casas noturnas da cidade de Saquarema. Logo depois, gravou em São Paulo seu segundo disco: "Pálpebras". Neste CD, incluiu de sua autoria "Minha maior vontade", "Acompanhando o sol" e a faixa-título "Pálpebras", contando com a participação de músicos reconhecidos como Sizão Machado, Luiz Meira e Roberto Lazarinni. Em 1998, juntamente com Antônio Rogério, lançou o CD "Chiko Queiroga & Antônio Rogério ao vivo". Neste disco, gravado em outubro no Teatro Atheneu, em Aracaju, ambos interpretaram composições próprias: "Transbrasileiro", "Desculpe o modo", "Chuva de verão", "Fim de primavera" e "A mestiça", todas de autoria de Chiko Queiroga, e ainda "Riacho", em parceria com Antônio Rogério. Em 1999, ainda fazendo dupla com Antônio Rogério, a convite de Willian Lennon, diretor do Center For International Students And Scholars - Tulane University de New Orleans, estado da Lousiana, EUA, a dupla apresentou-se no "Festival de Inverno" promovido pela universidade. Neste mesmo ano, a dupla fez shows em escolas públicas, casas de espetáculos e emissoras de FMs local. Em 2000, a dupla voltou aos EUA para se apresentar no "JazzFest de New Orleans - Lousiana", representando o Brasil junto a grandes nomes do jazz. No ano de 2001, através de novo convite, apresentaram-se na nova edição do festival, que neste ano fez homenagem a Louis Armstrong. Neste mesmo ano, em parceria com Antônio Rogério, lançou pelo selo Guitarra Brasileira o CD "Folia de São João". Em 2005, com Nelson Sargento, participou do "Projeto Pixinguinha" apresentando-se em várias cidades do país. Neste mesmo ano, ao lado de Luiz Melodia, Tim Maia, Renato Piau, Armandinho, Rubens Cardoso, Perinho Santana e Fabio Solon, entre outros, participou em dupla com Antônio Rogério da coletânea "Balaio atemporal", na qual interpretaram "Palavra de honra".
