Anthony Gilson Porphyry, better known as Agepê was a Brazilian singer. The stage name derives from the phonetic pronunciation of the initials of the real name "AGP". The recording career began in 1975 when it launched compact with the song "Live Not Where Nobody Lives", first hit him, it would be later covered by Wando, nine years later, released the smash hit "Let Eu Te Amar," which made part of the soundtrack of the telenovela Vereda Tropical, Carlos Lombardi. The Brazilian Mix disc, which contained this song, was the first record of samba to overcome the mark of one million copies sold (sold one and a half million copies). A career highlight for a more romantic, sensual and commercial style, as did school. Was an integral wing of the composers of Portela, containing an eclectic repertoire, mainly composed ballad and had the composer Canary the most frequent partner. Became enshrined in her voice authored numerous compositions, such as "Long Hair Girl," "Scent of Spring", "Take Me", "Girl Child" among others. Antônio Gilson Porfírio, mais conhecido como Agepê foi um cantor brasileiro. O nome artístico decorre da pronúncia fonética das iniciais do nome verdadeiro "AGP". A carreira fonográfica teve início em 1975 quando lançou o compacto com a canção "Moro Onde Não Mora Ninguém", primeiro sucesso dele, que seria regravada posteriormente por Wando, nove anos depois, lançou o sucesso estrondoso "Deixa Eu Te Amar", que fez parte da trilha sonora da telenovela Vereda Tropical, de Carlos Lombardi. O disco Mistura Brasileira, que continha esta canção, foi o primeiro disco de samba a ultrapassar a marca de um milhão de cópias vendidas (vendeu um milhão e meio de cópias). A carreira destacou-se por um estilo mais romântico, sensual e comercial, em que fez escola. Foi integrante da ala dos compositores da Portela, contendo um repertório eclético, composto principalmente por baião e teve no compositor Canário o mais frequente parceiro. Na sua voz tornaram-se consagradas inúmeras composições da autoria, como "Menina dos Cabelos Longos", "Cheiro de Primavera", "Me Leva", "Moça Criança" dentre outras.
