Paraibano, mudou-se cedo com a família para o Rio de Janeiro, onde aprendeu música com o pai. No início da década de 1960 fundou o conjunto Bossa Trio, mais tarde denominado Os Diagonais (c/ seu irmão Camarão, Hyldon e Amaro), grupo com o qual viajou por cidades mineiras e baianas. Em 1969, o grupo gravou pela Epic/CBS alguns compactos e um único LP "Cada um na sua", no ano de 1971, no qual o grupo incluiu "Não dá pra entender" e "Clarimunda", as duas de sua autoria. Ao lado de Tim Maia, Carlos Dafé, Banda Black Rio, Gérson King Combo e Hyldon, foi um dos precursores da soul music no Brasil. Influenciado tanto pela música negra norte-americana, particularmente Stevie Wonder e Ottis Redding, quanto por Lupicínio Rodrigues. Devido ao comportamento controverso, assim como o do amigo Tim Maia, ambos se auto-intitulavam músicos doidões. Tocou ao longo da década de 1960 na noite do Rio e de São Paulo. Só viria a se tornar conhecido em 1970, quando participou como guitarrista no primeiro disco de Tim Maia, que gravou duas composições suas em parceria com Sílvio Rochael "Eu amo você" e "Primavera", que logo se tornaram sucessos naquele ano. Em 1971, lançou pela RCA Victor seu primeiro LP solo "Imagem e som". Gravou discos solo como intérprete, alcançando sucesso com "A Lua e Eu", e em 1991 participou da gravação do songbook de Noel Rosa, pela editora Lumiar, ao lado de outros músicos. Banda de rock formada em Brasília em 1982 por Loro Jones, Flávio Lemos, Felipe Lemos e Bozzo Barretti, adotou um estilo que mistura rock, punk, pop e toques de new wave. O vocalista Dinho entrou em 1983, e o primeiro compacto foi lançado em 1984. No ano seguinte o grupo radicou-se em São Paulo, onde gravou mais um compacto e em seguida o primeiro LP, "Capital Inicial", de 1986, que ganhou Disco de Ouro. Alguns dos maiores sucessos da banda, como "Música Urbana" e "Fátima", compostas em parceria com Renato Russo, são desse primeiro disco. Nos três anos seguintes o Capital Inicial lançou um disco por ano. Em 1990 participou do Hollywood Rock e no ano seguinte, do Rock In Rio II. Em 1998, depois de algumas mudanças na formação, o quarteto original voltou a se reunir, e assinou contrato com a Abril Music, lançando no mesmo ano o CD "Atrás dos Olhos". Em 2000 a banda lança “Capital Inicial - Acústico MTV", e vê reconhecido o seu empenho em fazer um disco acústico de rock simples e despojado. Em 2002, o capital lança "Rosas e Vinho Tinto" e, em 2004, o CD “Gigante!”. Em 2005, a banda realiza um antigo sonho, regrava conhecidos e inéditos sucessos do Aborto Elétrico, banda punk de Brasília, formada por Renato Russo e os irmão Fê e Flávio Lemos, que originaram a Legião Urbana e o Capital Inicial. Em três anos e meio de existência, a banda O Círculo já é apontada pelo público, pela crítica e pela mídia, como uma das bandas mais respeitadas e influentes do cenário musical soteropolitano; o estilo musical da banda tem como fio condutor o Rock, aliado as diversas influências regionais, nacionais e universais. O grupo já participou de diversos festivais pelo Brasil, como o Porão do Rock (Brasília), os Festivais de Inverno de Ilhéus, de Lençóis, de Vitória da Conquista, além do Festival de Verão de Salvador, entre outros, contabilizando uma legião de fãs que cresce a cada apresentação. Após o sucesso do primeiro CD, intitulado “Estamos em toda parte”, lançado no final de 2007, O Círculo se prepara para lançar o seu segundo trabalho, intitulado “Eu Humano”. Algumas músicas novas já estão disponíveis na Internet, e a aceitação por parte do público superou as expectativas, somando cerca de 4 mil acessos em 3 dias. Formada em 1994 em Fortaleza, Ceará pelos cearenses Reges Bolo (voz) e Zé Wilclei (guitarra), além de Franklin Roosevelt (baixo) e Jucian Carlos (bateria), vindos de Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. A banda lançou seu primeiro trabalho independente em 1997, o título do álbum levando o mesmo nome da banda. O sucesso do disco fez com que a banda se apresentasse no Skol Rock Festival de 1998, sendo ovacionado como a melhor apresentação do festival.2 A boa apresentação despertou o interesse da gravadora Virgin, que convidou o quarteto para fazer parte de seu casting. A banda foi para São Paulo, onde conheceram os integrantes dos Raimundos, pra quem abriram vários shows. Em 2001, a banda lançou o álbum Todo Mundo Doido, produzido por Rick Bonadio, contendo dez faixas, destaca-se o hit A Cera, a música mais executada nas rádios brasileiras em 2001, Zarôia, Tudo é Possível que foi tema da novela adolescente Malhação e Hempadura. Com o sucesso do disco, O Surto foi convidado a se apresentar no Rock in Rio 3, dividindo o palco com grandes estrelas do Brasil e do mundo como Capital Inicial, Silverchair e Red Hot Chilli Peppers. O sucesso do álbum foi tão grande, que a banda foi convidada a participar de diversos programas de televisão em diversas emissoras como Globo, SBT, MTV, além de festivais por todo o país e uma série de cinco shows inesquecíveis no Japão. Em 2002, a banda lançou seu segundo álbum, o Equalizando as Idéias. O hit O Veneno foi também uma das músicas mais executadas por todo o Brasil, e seu videoclipe foi um dos clipes mais executados da MTV, chamando atenção pela sua excelente produção e fotografia. Entre 2004 a 2006, O Surto passou por uma transição. Aconteceram algumas trocas de integrantes e somente em 2007 a banda começou a trabalhar em um novo projeto, o disco De Onde Foi Que Paramos Mesmo?. O álbum contou com uma pré-produção do ex-tecladista do Capital Inicial, Aislan Gomes e com uma participação especial de Kiko Zambianchi em uma das faixas, porém, o vocalista Reges Bolo não ficou satisfeito com a produção final do álbum, que acabou por não ser lançado. Muitos consideram que o O Surto foi uma banda que não teve oportunidade de mostrar todo seu potencial, alguns chegando a comparar com Chico Science como a melhor banda desde o movimento manguebeat.
