I’m Hip - Please, Don’t Tell My Father”. [Fonte: clubedojazz]~

Jazz guitarist and vocalist John Pizzarelli is technically an artist with a soft voice, enchanting stage presence and dexterity to strike at the right time. Frequently playing with his own jazz quartet, composed by his brother Martin Pizzarelli on bass, drummer Tony Tedesco and Larry Fuller on piano, Pizzarelli found his musical niche that covers both jazz standards and American folk song. Son of swing guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, John was born in Paterson, New Jersey, USA on April 6, 1960. He started playing with his father in his early twenties and made his recording debut with the album "I'm Hip - Please, Do not Tell My Father ". As he grew older, John was exposed to comparisons to the styles of jazz legends like Les Paul and Django Reinhardt. The sound of the old jazz school was updated by Pizzarelli, which earned him commercial success, notably from 1993, when the John Pizzarelli Trio opened several concerts of the Frank Sinatra tour, and especially when he participated in the celebration of the eighty years of the Legendary vocalist at Carnegie Hall. Pizzarelli, growing in popularity, in 1997 participated in "Dream", Broadway production that was a tribute to the composer Johnny Mercer. In 1998, RCA released "Meets the Beatles", where he reinterprets classic songs from the Liverpool quartet. The following year he paid tribute to one of his greatest influences, pianist and vocalist Nat King Cole, in "P.S. Mr. Cole. " Pizzarelli recorded Bossa Nova in 2004. Strongly based on the work of composer Antônio Carlos Jobim, Pizzarelli's Trio presents classics such as "Girl from Ipanema" and "Aguas de Março". [Source: clubedojazz]
