Big Youth, nome artístico de Manley Augustus Buchanan, é um deejay de reggae, notório pelos seus trabalho na década de 1970. Antes de entrar para carreira musical, foi mecânico especializado em veículo diesel no Kingston's Sheraton Hotel, quando desenvolveu seus primeiros hits enquanto trabalhava, e foi cunhado o apelido de "Big Youth" por seus companheiros de trabalho. Nio início, sua performance com danças, inicialmente influenciado por U-Roy, onde teve contato com sistema de som em 1970, como DJ residente, atraiu atenção de produtores de Kingston. Bienvenido Rosendo Granda Aguillera foi um cantor cubano de boleros, tangos e ritmos cubanos. Por portar um grande bigode, era alcunhado de El bigote que canta (O bigode que canta). Bienvenido Granda ficou órfão aos seis anos de idade. Descobriu sua vocação para os ritmos cubanos e os tangos ainda criança, quando cantava pelos ônibus em Cuba. Começou sua carreira entre as décadas de 1940 e 1950, em emissoras de rádio, como a Rádio Cadena Azul, Rádio Cadena Suaritos, Rádio Progreso, Rádio CMQ e Rádio RHC. Seu primeiro conjunto chamava-se Sonora Matancera, em 1940. Atuou com este grupo durante muitos anos, até que, em 1954, começou a sua carreira solo. Apresentou-se em vários países da América Latina até fixar residência na Cidade do México, onde faleceu. Interpretou vários gêneros musicais cubanos e caribenhos, especialmente o bolero.
