Luís Vagner Dutra Lopes, natural de Bagé-RS é cantor, compositor e instrumentista brasileiro. Nascido e criado numa família ligada à música, Luís Vagner obtve seu primeiro violão como presente do avô e desde então procurou seu próprio caminho, após receber influências de todo o tipo de música. O que no entanto foi marcante para sua escalada musical foi a descoberta do rock, ao ver o filme No balanço das Horas, um dos marcos do estilo no Brasil, quando começou a compor algumas músicas. Em 1963, se muda com a família para Porto Alegre e participa da banda de rock The Jetsons, formada por ele e mais 4 integrantes. Em 1966, a banda migrou para São Paulo e se transformou na banda Os Brasas. A banda contava com um repertório próprio, tendo Luís Vagner e Tom Gomes como principais compositores. Nesse período, o cantor e compositor carioca Demétrius gravou a canção "Magoei seu coração", primeiro registro em disco de uma música de Luís Vagner. Em 1974, gravou seu primeiro disco, "Simples", e iniciou uma fusão de ritmos e gêneros musicais que o acompanhavam desde criança. Nesse disco, o samba-rock "Só que deram zero pro Bedeu" (homenagem a Jorge Moacir da Silva, o Bedeu, compositor gaúcho que forneceria muitos sucessos a Bebeto) repercute bem dentro do cenário de música negra no Brasil. Esse álbum, assim como alguns outros, é 100% autoral. Ainda em 1974, participou do disco "1990 - Projeto SalvaTerra", do cantor e compositor carioca Erasmo Carlos, tocando viola na música "A experiência". Em 2001, com a volta do samba-rock ao cenário musical, conseguiu nova projeção e se apresentou em diversas casas em São Paulo e Porto Alegre. Nessas ocasiões, foi freqüente a participação especial da banda paulistana Clube do Balanço, que teve em seu disco de estréia três músicas do guitarreiro (que participou inclusive da gravação do disco): "Saudade de Jackson do Pandeiro" (com Bedeu), "Trilha guitarreira" (com o guitarrista e compositor paulistano Marco Mattoli, líder da banda Club do Balanço e "Segura a nêga" (com Bebeto). Estreou como compositor nos discos de Bebeto, com quem compôs os maiores sucessos do cantor. Em 1977, compôs com Bebeto “Esperanças mil”, música que deu título ao LP lançado com grande sucesso pela Copacabana Discos. Ainda deste disco, foi incluído um dos primeiro sucessos de Bebeto, a composição “Você é que me acalma”, parceria de ambos, mais conhecida pelo subtítulo “Menina”. Nos anos posteriores, Bebeto gravou várias parcerias suas em diversos discos. No ano de 1982, Serginho Meriti, no disco “Vida tão bela menina”, lançado pela gravadora Polyfar, incluiu diversas composições da dupla: “Eu vou fazer”, “Juntos por toda a vida”, “Grito de gol”, “Morena dengosa”, “Chateador” e “Meriti”. Ainda neste disco, Serginho Meriti contou com a participação especial de Leci Brandão na faixa “Chicote da vida”, parceria de Dhema e Serginho Meriti. No ano seguinte, Neguinho Da Beija-Flor no LP “Meu mundo novo”, interpretou “Senhora” (Dhema e Serginho Meriti). No ano de 1993 lançou o CD “Dhema”, disco no qual incluiu de sua autoria “Deusa mulata” (c/ Bedeu), “De um lado de minha janela” (c/ Pedrinho da Flor), “Deitar no seu colo” (c/ Marco Arrojo), “Tudo tem seu tempo” e “Eu não te esqueço”. No ano seguinte, ainda pela gravadora Columbia, lançou o disco “Swing no amor”. Neste disco interpretou de sua autoria “O sonho não pode acabar” (c/ Marco Arrojo), “Com vontade de viver” (c/ Toca Martins), “Nosso amor é um sucesso” (c/ Joban), “Doce tentação” (c/ Nilton Ribeiro), “Deixa de onda” (c/ Bedeu) e ainda só de sua autoria “Será amor”, “Minha coisa linda” e a faixa-título “Swing no amor”, entre outras. Em 1999 gravou o disco “Dhema ao vivo”, no qual incluiu as inéditas “Que gente rara”, “Pití” e “Tudo é festa”, além de sucessos de sua carreira. [Fonte: diconariompb]
