Pato Banton é um cantor e “toaster” de reggae de Birmingham, Inglaterra. Ele começou a gravar em 1982, aparecendo em “Pato and Roger a Go Talk” (do Special Beat Service) com Ranking Roger do English Beat. Ele foi um dos artistas convidados que apareceram no álbum Baggariddim do UB40 em 1985. Sua estréia solo foi em 1987, com Never Give In, que incluia uma colaboração de Paul Shaffer. O *NSYNC foi uma famosa boy band formada em 1995, por Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone e Chris Kirkpatrick em Orlando, Flórida, Estados Unidos porém lançada primeiro na Alemanha pela BMG Ariola de Munique, Alemanha. Venderam 60 milhões de álbuns pelo mundo. No mesmo ano de 1995, Chris e Joey se conheceram nos Estúdios da Universal em Orlando, na Flórida. Os dois cantavam em atrações do parque e tornaram-se amigos. Enquanto isso, JC e Justin apresentavam o programa Novo Clube do Mickey, também em Orlando, junto com Britney Spears e Christina Aguilera, que também se tornariam cantoras famosas. Com o fim do programa, JC e Justin foram estudar música num colégio da cidade. Mas, faltava uma voz grave (baixo) para que os vocais ficassem em harmonia. Inicialmente, o quinto membro foi Jason Galasso, porém, depois de vários ensaios, Jason decide sair do grupo alegando que o estilo do grupo não o agradava e não era sua pretensão ser um ídolo teen. Com isso, depois de várias audições para achar uma pessoa que o substituísse, Justin decidiu consultar seu professor de canto, que acabou indicando Lance, um garoto de 16 anos do Mississippi, que entrara para o grupo dias depois. O nome do grupo foi sugerido pela mãe de Justin, *NSYNC que é a abreviação de ‘In Sync’, que em português significa: Em Sincronia. Este nome, segundo a mãe de Justin, representa como a voz dos membros soa quando eles cantam. Há também uma suposta coincidência no nome, se for pego as ultimas letras dos nomes dos integrantes, pode-se formar o nome do grupo: JustiN, ChriS, JoeY, JasoN, and JC. Logo que Lance entrou no grupo, foi dado a ele o apelido de Lansten, justamente para corrigir a falha na formação do nome, deixando, assim, o nome do grupo formado só com os nomes dos integrantes efetivos. The * NSYNC was a famous boy band formed in 1995 by Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick in Orlando, Florida, United States but first released in Germany by BMG Ariola Munich, Germany. They sold 60 million albums worldwide. In the same year 1995, Chris and Joey met in Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. Both sang in park attractions and have become friends. Meanwhile, JC and Justin had the New Mickey Mouse Club program, also in Orlando, along with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, who also would become famous singers. With the end of the program, JC and Justin were studying music in a college town.
