In the early '80s, the Canadian heavy metal band Anvil has impacted on increasing the speed metal scene. His first three albums showed a technically advanced metal and an amazing speed never seen before - sound for the pleasure of the sound, not the music. After releasing their third album in 1983, the band sank into a morass of legal and creative issues where his achievements and popularity were eclipsed by bands that defined the speed and thrash metal - Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth - among other lesser known who had debit with the previous work of Anvil.
