Alexi Murdoch é um cantor e compositor Londrino que, na adolescência, mudou-se para os EUA com o objetivo de estudar Filosofia na Universidade de Duke (Duke University). Seu primeiro trabalho, Four Songs, foi lançado por um selo independente em 2002, o site CD Baby, tornando-se um grande sucesso de vendas: 50.000 cópias foram vendidas, tornando o CD pouco tempo depois de seu lançamento o Álbum Mais Vendido de Todos os Tempos (no site). Em 2003, performou no Sundance Film Festival. Em 2004, Hollywood Reporter/Billboard Film & TV Music Conference. No final deste último ano, Alexi tinha sua música Orange Sky como a indie mais tocada na Filadélfia. Suas músicas figuram em várias séries de TV, como O.C. Seu primeiro álbum de estúdio intitula-se Time Without Consequence, e foi lançado em 6 de junho de 2006, pela Zero Summer. A sonoridade do álbum passeia pelo indie folk/alternative music. Suas músicas aparecem frequentemente através das mídias televisivas, desde comerciais de TV (Nissan, Samsung Galaxy SIII) até a aberturas de séries.
