Em 1984, os adolescentes Dexter Holland e Greg Kriesel, que eram colegas de ginásio em Huntington Beach, resolveram formar uma banda após saírem de um concerto da banda de projeção local Social Distortion. Mais tarde, Kevin “Noodles” Wasserman foi chamado para banda pelo seu infame talento de conseguir bebidas alcoólicas para os integrantes da banda, na época menores de idade. Tocando sob o nome de Manic Subsidal, em 1986 a banda decide trocar de nome para The Offspring. Seu primeiro single em vinil foi lançado na gravadora independente Black Label, fundada pelos próprios integrantes da banda. Mais tarde, o baterista original resolve sair da banda para dedicar-se mais aos estudos, sendo trocado por Ron Welty, com 16 anos na época. Seu primeiro single teve tiragem de mil cópias, contendo as canções “I’ll Be Waiting” e “Blackball”. Seu álbum de estréia, The Offspring, foi lançado pela gravadora independente Nemesis/Cargo, produzido por Thom Wilson (responsável por álbuns de outras bandas como Dead Kennedys), vendendo três mil cópias desde a estréia em vinil. Dois anos depois, uma de suas canções é inserida numa coletânea da Epitaph Records (selo pertencente ao guitarrista do Bad Religion, Brett Gurewitz), lançando logo no ano seguinte seu primeiro disco pela nova gravadora, Ignition, que ganhou disco de platina pelas suas vendas no mundo todo. Foi em 1998 que o Offspring voltou a estourar nas paradas com o lançamento do álbum “Americana” e dos singles “She’s Got Issues”, “Why Don’t You Get a Job”, “The Kids Aren’t Alright” (paródia de The Kids Are Alright, do The Who) e “Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)”, que segundo a revista Rolling Stone era na época a música mais pirateada da Internet. Após anos sem um álbum apenas de músicas inéditas, o Offspring lança, em junho de 2008 o seu 8º álbum de estúdio, “Rise And Fall, Rage And Grace”, produzido pelo lendário Bob Rock, que trabalhou por muitos anos com o Metallica. Josh Freese é novamente convidado para assumir as baquetas durante as gravações. Para a turnê, Pete Parada é convidado a ingressar na banda desde 2007, quando se apresenta pela primeira vez com o grupo no festival Summer Sonic, no Japão. Na semana de estréia, em junho de 2008, o álbum atinge a 10ª posição dos álbuns mais vendidos da Billboard. O 1º single, Hammerhead” atinge a 2ª posição na lista de “Hot Modern Rock Tracks” da Billboard. O 2º single, “You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid” atinge mais sucesso ainda e passa 11 semanas em 1º lugar na mesma categoria da Billboard. In 1984, young Dexter Holland and Greg Kriesel, who were colleagues gym in Huntington Beach, decided to form a band after leaving a concert of the band Social Distortion location projection. Later, Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman was called to band by his infamous talent to get alcohol for the band, the underage time. In the opening weekend, in June 2008, the album reached the 10th position of the albums Bestsellers Billboard. The 1st single, Hammerhead "reaches # 2 on the list of" Hot Modern Rock Tracks "Billboard. The 2nd single, "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid" reaches even more success and spends 11 weeks at No. 1 in the same category of Billboard. The Murder City Devils foi uma banda de garage punk activa entre 1996 e 2001. Desde 2006, a banda tem tocado em shows ocasionais festivais e em Seattle e uma breve turnê da West Coast, em Fevereiro de 2009. Formação original da banda, foi composta por Spencer Moody, Dann Gallucci, Fudesco Derek, Coady Willis, e Manny Nate formada em Seattle, Washington em 1996. Dentro de um ano, a banda lançou dois singles Three Sixes Natural e Dance Hall Music e assinou com o “Die Young Stay Pretty” rótulo, uma subsidiária da Sub Pop. O auto-intitulado álbum de estréia foi lançado em 1997. Após um breve intervalo, a banda lançou In Name and Blood, em 2000, com fotos do encarte notoriamente alusivos a cada membro como uma vítima de assassinato. A banda lançou o EP Thelema, em 2001, antes de se acabar no final daquele ano devido a circunstâncias da saída de Hardy’s da banda. A banda Dropkick Murphys foi originalmente formada em 1996 em Quincy, MA. Tocavam numa barbearia de um amigo e logo encontraram público que gostava da sua música, e como resultado começaram a fazer digressões e a gravar. A banda gravou uma série de EPs e assinou com a Hellcat Records. Em 1997, eles lançaram seu primeiro álbum, Do or Die. Logo após isso, o vocalista Mike McColgan deixou a banda, e foi substituído por Al Barr. Em 1999, eles lançaram o seu álbum seguinte, The Gang’s All Here. Em 2001, lançam o álbum Sing Loud, Sing Proud!. Este álbum mostrou a evolução da música da banda, e incluiu a colabaoração de Shane MacGowan e Cock Sparrer. O próximo álbum, Blackout, foi lançado em 2003. Este álbum incluía o sucesso radiofônico “Walk Away,” além de uma das favoritas dos fãs “Fields of Athenry”. Shortly thereafter, vocalist Mike McColgan left the band, and was replaced by Al Barr. In 1999, they released their next album, The Gang's All Here. In 2001, they released the album Sing Loud, Sing Proud!. This album showcased the evolution of the band's music, and included collaborations from Shane MacGowan and Cock Sparrer. Their next album, Blackout, was released in 2003. This album included the radio hit "Walk Away," as well as the fan favorite "Fields of Athenry." Their 5th album, The Warrior's Code on Epitaph Records, was released on June 21, 2005. It featured the singles "Sunshine Highway", "The Warrior's Code", and as a bonus track, "Tessie". It also included a song inspired by a poem by Woody Guthrie called "I'm Shipping Up to Boston", which was featured on the soundtrack to the 2006 Oscar-winning film The Departed.
