Vinicius de Moraes, nascido Marcus Vinicius de Moraes foi um diplomata, dramaturgo, jornalista, poeta, cantor e compositor brasileiro. Poeta essencialmente lírico, o que lhe renderia a alcunha "poetinha", que lhe teria atribuído Tom Jobim, notabilizou-se pelos seus sonetos. Conhecido como um boêmio inveterado, fumante e apreciador do uísque, era também conhecido por ser um grande conquistador. O poetinha casou-se por nove vezes ao longo de sua vida e suas esposas foram, respectivamente: Beatriz Azevedo de Melo (mais conhecida como Tati de Moraes), Regina Pederneiras, Lila Bôscoli, Maria Lúcia Proença, Nelita de Abreu, Cristina Gurjão, Gesse Gessy, Marta Rodrigues Santamaria (a Martita) e Gilda de Queirós Mattoso. Sua obra é vasta, passando pela literatura, teatro, cinema e música. Ainda assim, sempre considerou que a poesia foi sua primeira e maior vocação, e que toda sua atividade artística deriva do fato de ser poeta[8] . No campo musical, o poetinha teve como principais parceiros Tom Jobim, Toquinho, Baden Powell, João Gilberto, Chico Buarque e Carlos Lyra. Na madrugada de 9 de julho de 1980, Vinicius de Moraes começou a se sentir mal na banheira da casa onde morava, na Gávea, vindo a falecer pouco depois. O poeta passou o dia anterior com o parceiro e amigo Toquinho, com quem planejava os últimos detalhes do volume 2 do álbum "Arca de Noé". Foi sepultado no Cemitério de São João Batista no Rio de Janeiro. Mesmo após a morte, a obra musical de Vinicius manteve-se prestigiada na música brasileira. Foram lançados os álbuns Toquinho, Vinicius e Maria Creuza - O Grande Encontro (1988) e A História dos Shows Inesquecíveis - Poeta, Moça e Violão: Vinicius, Clara e Toquinho (1991), além de terem sido lançados livros sobre o poeta, como Vinicius de Moraes - Livro de Letras (1993), de José Castello, Vinicius de Moraes (1995), também de José Castello, "Vinicius de Moraes" (1997), de Geraldo Carneiro (uma edição ampliada do livro publicado em 1984). Ainda em 1993, Almir Chediak editou os três volumes do Songbook Vinicius de Moraes. Por ocasião dos vinte anos da morte do poeta, em 2000, a Praia de Ipanema foi o palco de um show em homenagem a Vinicius, que contou com a participação da Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira, Roberto Menescal, Wanda Sá, Zimbo Trio, Os Cariocas, Emílio Santiago e Toquinho, interpretando composições de sua autoria. Em 2003, ano em que o poeta completaria seu 90º aniversário, foram lançados vários projetos em tributo à sua criação artística. Também foi lançado o website oficial de Vinicius. Em 2005, "The Girl from Ipanema", versão em inglês de "Garota de Ipanema", interpretada por Astrud Gilberto, Tom Jobim, João Gilberto e Stan Getz e gravada em 1963, foi escolhida como uma das 50 grandes obras musicais da Humanidade pela Biblioteca do Congresso Americano. Ainda em 2005, estreou, na abertura da sétima edição do Festival do Rio, o documentário Vinicius, dirigido por Miguel Faria Jr. e produzido por Suzana de Moraes, filha do poeta, com a participação de Chico Buarque, Carlos Lyra, Caetano Veloso, Maria Bethânia, Adriana Calcanhoto, Mariana de Moraes e Olívia Byington, entre outros convidados. Vinicius de Moraes, born Marcus Vinicius de Moraes was a diplomat, playwright, journalist, poet, singer and Brazilian composer. essentially lyric poet, which would yield him the nickname "little poet", which would have given Tom Jobim, was notable by his sonnets. Filho de Promotor de Justiça e professora de português. Nasceu no em Belo Jardim, cidade do interior de Pernambuco. Pouco depois a família transferiu-se para Recife, onde passou a infância. Descendente de holandeses e índios. Entre 1989 e 1991 residiu na França, apresentando-se como músico nas ruas e metrôs de Paris. De volta ao Brasil, foi morar no Rio de Janeiro, onde trabalhou em gafieiras, apresentando-se ao lado de Jovelina Pérola Negra. Mais tarde, transferiu-se para São Paulo. Surgiu como percussionista na primeira formação do grupo Nação Zumbi. Logo depois, integrou o grupo pernambucano Mundo Livre S/A, com o qual gravou os discos "Samba esquema noise" e "Guentando a ôia". Em 1998, lançou-se em carreira solo com CD "Samba pra burro", no qual combinou maracatu com drum 'n' bass e repente com rap. Deste trabalho participaram Bebel Gilberto, Erasto Vasconcelos (Irmão de Naná Vasconcelos) e Fred 04 (do grupo Mundo Livre S/A). O disco recebeu o prêmio da Associação Paulista de Críticos de Arte como o melhor daquele ano. No ano seguinte, em 1999, participou ao lado de Tom Zé do "Heinken Concerts", em São Paulo e ainda participou do disco "Baião de viramundo" (sobre a obra de Luiz Gonzaga), no qual interpretou as faixas "Orélia" e "Garçom". Neste mesmo ano, participou de outro CD, "Reginaldo Rossi - um tributo", este, sobre a obra de Reginaldo Rossi. Seu disco seguinte, "Changez tout - samba pra burro dissecado", lançado em 2000, trouxe novas composições. Suas músicas foram remixadas por Edgard Scandurra, do grupo Ira!, e pelo DJ Marky. Em 2003 participou da "10ª edição do Festival Humaitá Pra Peixe" (Piracema - o movimento dos peixes contra a maré na época da desova), apresentado no Espaço Cultural Sérgio Porto, ao lado de B Negão, Sabotage e os paulistas do grupo Instituto, entre outros. Neste mesmo ano lançou o CD "Sem gravidade", disco no qual contou com a participação especial da namorada, a atriz Alessandra Negrini e ainda de Rita Lee na faixa "Tento entender" e Bnegão na faixa "Amarelô". No ano de 2004, divulgando o CD "Sem gravidade", fez turnê por Portugal, Inglaterra, Dinamarca, Espanha e França, sendo elogiado pela crítica e público locais e mencionado nas principais publicações musicais, entre elas, "The Observer" e "Straight no Chaser". Em 2012 o cantor e compositor foi uma das principais atrações no "Festival Pro Rock", de Recife. Nesta edição do evento, a 20ª, também se apresentaram os grupos Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra, Nada Surf (ambos dos Estados Unidos); Los Hermanos (Rio de Janeiro), Buraka Som Sistema (de Portugal); Mundo Livre S/A (Pernambuco); Ratos de Porão (São Paulo), Brujeria (México), Strobo (Pará), além de bandas novas do cenário recifense, tais como Ska Maria Pastore e Tibério Azul.
