Ganhou inúmeras edições do Festival Universitário FINCA (Festival Interno de Música Candanga) da Universidade de Brasília, é a maior vencedora da história do Festival de Música Tom Jobim do Sesc – DF, multipremiada no Festival de Música dos Correios. Influenciada pela multiplicidade na música de Gilberto Gil, Alceu Valença, Carlinhos Brown e Racionais Mc’s, pelas divas do samba Jovelina Pérola Negra, Clementina de Jesus e Lecy Brandão, pelo suingue da música africana de Bonga (Angola) e Richard Bona (Camarões), e pelas vozes do soul e do R&B estadunidenses de Jill Scott, Tina Turner e Nina Simone, a música de Ellen Oléria se soma à influencia samba-jazz da banda pret.utu em outubro de 2005. Depois de abrir shows de Ney Matogrosso, Margareth Menezes, Geraldo Azevedo e Milton Nascimento, Ellen Oléria já dividiu o palco com Yamandú Costa, Hamilton De Holanda, Diogo Nogueira, o grupo argentino Actitud María Marta, Móveis Coloniais de Acajú, o talento de Emicida. Em 1972, teve pela primeira vez gravada uma música de sua autoria, "Belém", em parceria com Sebastião Tapajós, que a incluiu no repertório do disco "Violão e amigos". Em 1976, iniciou sua carreira de músico, tocando em casas noturnas ao lado do cantor Valter Bandeira, do violonista Everaldo Pinheiro e do percussionista Dadadá. Formou, juntamente Dadadá, Sagica, Kizam Gama e Bob Freitas, o Grupo Gema, com o qual realizou trabalhos de música instrumental, com várias apresentações em teatros, praças, clubes em Belém, Macapá e Santarém. Compôs mais de 100 canções, em estilos os mais diversos, como valsas, sambas, boleros, funks, carimbós e guarânias. Atuou, como instrumentista, com diversos artistas como Billy Blanco, João Donato, Carmen Costa, Erasmo Carlos, Martinho da Vila, Sérgio Ricardo, Noite Ilustrada, Maurício Tapajós, Valeska, Leila Pinheiro, Nazaré Pereira, Johnny Alf e Fafá de Belém, além da francesa Zizi Burnier. Seu primeiro CD, lançado pela Secretaria de Cultura do Estado do Pará (Secult), fez parte do "Projeto Uirapuru", que visa resgatar o trabalho dos compositores mais significativos da cultura musical paraense. Com o nome de um licor, o grupo foi formado em 1992, depois que o baixista Craig Montoya e o baterista Scott Cuthbert responderem a um anúncio colocado por Art Alexakis nos classificados do jornal de música “The Rocket”, de Seattle. O primeiro álbum, “World of Noise” conseguiu chamar a atenção do público local e de grandes selos. Em 1994 a banda assina com uma gravadora maior, a Capitol Records e Greg Eklund substitui Cuthbert, que sofria com a dependência química. No ano seguinte a banda edita “Sparkle And Fade”, que, através dos singles “Heroin Girl” e “Santa Monica” vendeu incríveis 1,5 milhão de cópias. O segundo disco, chamado “So Much For The Afterglow”, foi lançado em 1997 e vendeu ainda mais, ultrapassando os 2 milhões de cópias vendidas, e a consagração definitiva da banda veio com o prêmio de “Modern Artist of the Year” de 1998, concedido pela Billboard além da premiação de “El distorto de Melodica” pelo Grammy, como melhor música instrumental de rock daquele ano. Em 1999 a banda participa do Woodstock 99’. Depois do sucesso do disco “So Much For The Afterglow”, Art Alexakis decide gravar um album solo, com outros músicos, porém, não fica satisfeito com o resultado e resolve chamar de volta Eklund e Montoya, e por volta de julho de 2000 este projeto se transformaria no álbum intitulado “Songs From An American Movie Vol. 1: Learning How to Smile” com o single “Wonderful”.Alguns meses depois a banda lança o álbum “Songs from an American Movie, Vol. 2: Good Time for a Bad Attitude” com músicas mais agressivas do que o Volume 1, mas toda essa estratégia de marketing não fez muito sucesso com o público. Em 2003 a banda lança seu sexto álbum, chamado “Slow Motion Daydream”, com o single “Volvo Driving Soccer Mom”, porém, vendendo um número de cópias abaixo do esperado. Após o fracasso de vendas do álbum, Craig Montoya e Greg Eklund resolvem deixar a banda e seguir com projetos próprios e a banda deixa, também, a gravadora Capitol Records após lançar um álbum incluindo os maiores sucessos entre os anos de 1994 e 2004, intitulado “Ten Years Gone”. Art Alexakis tentou novamente um projeto solo mas não obteve o sucesso esperado. Então decidiu voltar com a banda convidando novos membros: o baixista Sam Hudson, o guitarista Dave “Davey” French, e o baterista Eric Bretl (que logo foi substituido por Brett Snyder). Em 2006, já com uma gravadora menor, a “Eleven Sevem Music” a banda lança seu último álbum com músicas próprias, chamado “Welcome to the Drama Club”, com o single “Hater”. With the name of a liqueur, the group was formed in 1992 after bassist Craig Montoya and drummer Scott Cuthbert respond to an ad placed in the classifieds of Art Alexakis music newspaper "The Rocket", Seattle. The first album, "World of Noise" managed to draw the attention of the local public and major labels. In 1994 the band signed with major label Capitol Records and Greg Eklund replaces Cuthbert, who suffered with addiction. The following year the band edits "Sparkle And Fade", which, through the singles "Heroin Girl" and "Santa Monica" incredible sold 1.5 million copies. The second disc, called "So Much For The Afterglow", was released in 1997 and sold even more, exceeding 2 million copies sold, and the final consecration of the band came with the award for "Modern Artist of the Year" 1998 awarded by Billboard awards beyond "El distorto of Melodica" by Grammy as best instrumental rock song that year. In 1999 the band participates in Woodstock 99 '. After the success of the album "So Much For The Afterglow", Art Alexakis decided to record a solo album with other musicians, however, is not satisfied with the result and decides to bring back Montoya and Eklund, and by July 2000 this project would become the album titled "Songs From An American Movie Vol. 1: Learning How to Smile" with the single "Wonderful." A few months later the band released the album "Songs from an American Movie, Vol. 2: Good Time for a Bad Attitude" songs with more aggressive than Volume 1, but all this marketing strategy did not have much success with the public. In 2003 the band released their sixth album, called "Slow Motion Daydream" with the single "Volvo Driving Soccer Mom", but selling a copy number lower than expected. After the failure of album sales, Craig Montoya and Greg Eklund decide to leave the band and move with their own projects and the band also leaves the Capitol Records after releasing a greatest hits album including between the years 1994 and 2004, entitled "Ten Years Gone". Mindflow é uma banda brasileira de metal progressivo fundada na cidade de São Paulo. Criada em 2003, a banda lançou seu primeiro trabalho Just the Two of Us… Me and Them (2004) O grupo, com a turnê Let Your MindFlow realizada de maio de 2004 a junho de 2006, passou pela Ásia, Europa e todo o Brasil arrecadando prêmios em sites especializados e rádios do gênero. Em 2005 o destino foi a Coréia do Sul, onde o MindFlow participou em dois festivais patrocinados pelo governo coreano na cidade de Daegu: E-Sports Festival, evento realizado numa avenida do centro da cidade, transmitido ao vivo na rede de televisão aberta do país; e atuou como banda principal no 2º Duryu Rock Festival. Além disso, a banda fez duas apresentações próprias na cidade de Seul. O MindFlow já havia embarcado para a Espanha em 2004 para participar no ProgMetal Fest, realizando shows em Madrid, Palência, Barcelona e Girona. Na cidade de Girona, a apresentação ocorreu na sala "La Mirona", uma das maiores do país, e na ocasião foi gravado um DVD do grupo. No Brasil, o MindFlow passou pelos mais diversos centros urbanos do país, inclusive nas capitais nordestinas, Natal e Fortaleza. Algumas outras cidades que fizeram parte da turnê foram Curitiba, Belo Horizonte, Bauru, Santos, Limeira, Itatiba e Londrina. Mindflow is a Brazilian progressive metal band founded in the city of São Paulo. Created in 2003, the band released their first job Just the Two of Us ... Me and Them (2004) The group, with Let Your MindFlow tour held from May 2004 to June 2006, went through Asia, Europe and all over Brazil collecting awards on specialized sites and gender radios. In 2005 the destination was South Korea, where the MindFlow participated in two festivals sponsored by the Korean government in Daegu city: E-Sports Festival, an event held on an avenue from the city center, broadcast live in open country television network ; and served as headliners on the 2nd Duryu Rock Festival. In addition, the band made two own performances in Seoul. The MindFlow had already shipped to Spain in 2004 to participate in progmetal Fest, performing concerts in Madrid, Palencia, Barcelona and Girona.
