The Stranglers é uma banda Inglesa, formada em 11 Setembro de 1974 em Guildford, Surrey. Originalmente eles chamavam-se “The Guildford Stranglers”. Começaram tocando rock num pub e logo decidiram explorar novos estilos musicais. No inicio, em 1976, foram conotados como um grupo de punk rock, muito por culpa do primeiro tour na Inglaterra. The Stranglers foram tambem associados ao estilo New Wave assim como gothic rock, mas o seu estilo proprio nunca atingiu completamente nenhum dos anteriores. Os fundadores da banda eram o baterista Jet Black (nome verdadeiro Brian Duffy), baixista e vocalista Jean Jacques Burnel, guitarrista/vocalista Hugh Cornwell e no orgão e na guitarra Hans Warmling. The Stranglers is an English band, formed on September 11, 1974 in Guildford, Surrey. Originally they were called "The Guildford Stranglers". They started playing in a rock pub and then decided to explore new musical styles. Earlier, in 1976, was notorious as a group of punk rock, much the fault of the first tour in England. The Stranglers were also associated with the New Wave style as gothic rock, but his own style never quite reached any of the foregoing. Mindjive formou-se na primavera de 1992 por Christian Gabel (bateria), Tobias Danielsson (vocal), Magnus Zotterman (baixo) e Erik Engstrom (guitarra). A banda fez um playback demo que foi Grass"dada atenção pela gravadora Burning Records. O grupo foi contratado e no outono de 1993 estréia lançado EP, "Green Grass". Em outubro de 1994, foi lançado o segundo EP da banda, o auto-intitulado Mindjive. O grupo foi bem recebido pelos críticos e começou a receber também um público maior de ouvintes. Junto com Refused embarcou em uma turnê de um mês de duração. Em1995 Erik Engstrom e Mattias Bärjed assumiram o papel como guitarrista da Banda. No ano seguinte, em 1996, foi lançado seu primeiro álbum, "Chemicals". No mesmo ano, a banda tocou, entre outras coisas, com Bergslags e Hultsfred Festival. [Creditos: wikipedia]
