Nascida numa família pobre de Kingston, Jamaica, Diana King fugiu de casa ainda adolescente, quando os pais descobriram seus dotes de cantora de rhythm & blues, o que para eles era coisa do demônio. Conheceu o rei do dancehall, Shabba Ranks, e logo passou a acompanhá-lo em turnês, fazendo backing vocals. Em 1995, por influência de Shabba, conseguiu um contrato com a Epic, subsidiária da Sony Music, gravando o álbum Tougher Than Love. O disco fez sucesso em vários países, inclusive o Brasil, graças ao single Shy Guy (que três anos depois ganharia uma versão em português, gravada pela Fat Family). A música acabou sendo incluída na trilha do filme Bad Boy, estrelado por Will Smith, o que aumentou a popularidade da intérprete. Em 1997, Diana lançou seu segundo disco, Think Like A Girl, que teve como destaques a inédita L-L-Lies e releituras de Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?, hit do Culture Club, e de I Say A Little Prayer, clássico do maestro e compositor Burt Bacharach, gravado originalmente por Dionne Warwick. A versão de Diana King, com levada de reggae, entrou na trilha da comédia O Casamento Do Meu Melhor Amigo (My Best Friend's Wedding), com Julia Roberts, o que impulsionou a venda do disco. Born into a poor family in Kingston, Jamaica, Diana King ran away from home as a teenager, when parents found their rhythm & blues singer skills, which to them was a thing of the devil. He met the king of the dancehall, Shabba Ranks, and soon came to join him on tour, doing backing vocals. In 1995, influenced by Shabba, got signed to Epic, a unit of Sony Music, recording the album Tougher Than Love. The album was a hit in several countries, including Brazil, thanks to the single Shy Guy (who three years later would win a Portuguese version, recorded by Fat Family). The song was eventually included in the soundtrack Bad Boy, starring Will Smith, which increased the popularity of the interpreter. In 1997, Diana released her second album, Think Like A Girl, which had as highlights the unprecedented LL-Lies and reinterpretations of Do You Really Want To Hurt Me ?, hit the Culture Club, and I Say A Little Prayer, Classic conductor and composer Burt Bacharach, originally recorded by Dionne Warwick. The version of Diana King is brought reggae, entered the comedy track The Wedding My Best Friend (My Best Friend's Wedding), with Julia Roberts, which pushed the disc sale. Frank Vincent Zappa foi um compositor, guitarrista, produtor de gravação e Realizador. Influenciados pelas bandas punks do final dos anos 70 e início dos anos 80, o grupo foi formado em 1982 na cidade de Mauá (uma das cidades que compõem a região do Grande ABC, em São Paulo). Naquela época estávamos no auge do movimento punk no Brasil e várias bandas surgiam principalmente nos grandes centros urbanos. A primeira apresentação dos Garotos aconteceu em 1983 na cidade de Santo André num evento que reuniu vários grupos de vários estilos musicais em prol do Fundo de Greve dos Metalúrgicos do ABC, daí para frente começaram a participar de vários eventos pela região. A primeira gravação aconteceu em 1984 quando foram convidados a participar de uma coletânea em cassete com as bandas: Corte Marcial, Infratores e Grito de Alerta. Em 1985 entraram em estúdio para gravar o que seria uma demo-tape. Foram gravadas e mixadas catorze músicas em doze horas num estúdio de oito canais, e o resultado foi considerado tão bom para os padrões da época que onze destas músicas acabaram se tornando o primeiro álbum da banda, intitulado “Mais Podres do que Nunca” editado pelo extinto selo Rocker e no ano seguinte pelo extinto selo Lup-Som. Esse disco chegou a marca das 50.000 cópias vendidas, um recorde de vendagem de discos independentes na época e continua sendo distribuido em cd até hoje. Estávamos em plena ditadura militar e a Censura Federal tentava cumprir o seu papel. Apenas a música “Johnny” foi censurada, sendo proibida a sua execução. As músicas: “Papai-Noel Filho da Puta” e “Maldita Polícia” foram mudadas propositalmente pelos Garotos para burlar a censura . Dessa gravação três músicas foram incluídas na coletânea “Ataque Sonoro” editada pelo selo Ataque Frontal com várias bandas punks brasileiras,entre elas: Ratos de Porão, Cólera, Lobotomia, Grinders, Vírus 27 , etc. A partir daí a banda Garotos Podres se tornou muito popular, abrangendo não apenas a cena punk mas também o mais variado tipo de público, se tornando a primeira banda punk do Brasil a ter suas músicas veiculadas na programação normal de algumas rádios.
