O Pizzicato Five foi uma das mais criativas bandas que já surgiu. O grupo conseguiu se destacar graças à originalidade e a técnica de Konichi Yasuharu e ao carisma de Maki Nomiya, últimos componentes da banda. Seu início deu-se com o encontro de Yasuharu com Keitaro Takanami, em uma universidade de Tóquio, no ano de 1979. Formaram a banda, juntamente com Ryo Kamamiya, a primeira vocalista. Ryo ficou na banda até 1984, quando foi substituída por Mamiko Sasaki. Com a saída de Sasaki, Konichi seguiu em frente com um novo vocalista, Takao Tajima, que durou somente um ano. Substituido por Maki Nomiya, alcançou o topo com o sucesso do CD “Made in USA”. Neste momento, Takanami resolve sair da banda, transformando o Pizzicato Five em uma dupla. A dupla confirmou seu talento e versatilidade em “Happy End of The World”, de 1999, que foi o primeiro CD do Pizzicato Five a sair oficialmente no Brasil. Eles seguiram na fusão lounge/pop/música eletrônica, e ficaram sendo reconhecidos como precursores do Shibuya-kei. AB Logic é um duo de música Eurodance composta de cantora Marianne Festraets e rapper americano K-Swing (Cedric Murril). Marianne Festraets praticou muitos anos de aulas de balé clássico na escola Royal Ballet of Flanders. Ela também contribuiu para o projeto The Dinky Toys, e fez backing vocals para Isabelle A. O grupo foi idealizado pelos produtores belgas Jacko Bultinck e Peter Gillis. Em 1991, Festraets Marianne foi convidada para ir a uma audição no estúdio Top em Ghent (Bélgica). Ela tinha que cantar uma canção chamada The Hitman, e foi escolhida no local, entre vários cantores para gravá-la e ser uma parte do projeto, juntamente com K-Swing. Peter Gillis e Jacko Bultinck levou a canção ao MIDEM em Cannes (França). Ronald Van Huffel surgiu com o nome AB Logic para promovê-la, e em nenhum momento eles tiveram assinado na Warner Leste-Oeste registra em Londres! Daquele momento em diante, tudo foi muito rápido! Em um mês, eles tinham que vir para cima com um álbum completo, que era a condição para a gravadora para lançar o single nos EUA. E assim o AB Logic saiu em turnê de promoção no Reino Unido em Junho de 1992. Seu segundo single foi lançado em 1993 “AB Logic” com bastante sucesso, ele atingiu 1º lugar em Israel durante 3 semanas. Em seguida, seu álbum foi lançado. Seu penúltimo single a ser lançado foi uma trilha muito agradável eurodance chamado Real World. Ele não está incluído no álbum. Foi escrito por Peter Gillis, Bultinck Jacques e Murril Cedric, gravado no Studio Top em Gent (Bélgica). Outro single foi lançado em 1996 de forma confidencial. Intitulado Welcome To My Heart, que foi escrito por Marianne Festraets, Peter Gillis e Cedric Murrill, produzido por Peter Gillis, co-produzido par Marianne Festraets. O single foi publicado sob BMG Ariola Belgica / Wax World importado pelo USA. Além de seus primeiros lançamentos, houve também um medley intitulado This is AB Logic, mixado por Les Massengale e Mark Roberts, caracterizado em uma compilação chamada Ultimix 47 (Ultimix Records). bangaO Banga (para os "íntimos") nasceu como bloco de carnaval no verão de 98, e foi aos poucos ganhando espaço na zona sul, onde invariavelmente as apresentações acabavam em grandes festas nas ruas. Com o sucesso do carnaval, os principais integrantes ficaram motivados a seguir com o trabalho durante o ano, fazendo shows com uma formação reduzida, mas sem perder a sonoridade e a característica festiva do bloco. Este foi o estopim para o surgimento da banda Bangalafumenga. No entanto, mesmo como uma "banda", não perderam o jeito vira-lata, e não deixaram de participar da folia do carnaval de rua. O resultado é um som direto, percussivo, super dançante com uma linguagem poética simples. Assim o trabalho foi começando a conquistar a simpatia do público, e respeito de nomes consagrados da nossa música. Já dividiram palco com artistas como: Nei Lopes, Zélia Duncan, Fernanda Abreu, Marcelo D2, Roberto Frejat, Seu Jorge, Paula Lima, Walter Alfaiate, Adriana Calcanhoto, Pedro Luís e a Parede, entre outros. Rodrigo Maranhão, líder e principal compositor do grupo, já foi gravado por vários intérpretes da música brasileira. Destaque para Fernanda Abreu, Zélia Duncan, e Maria Rita, esta última que gravou a canção “Caminhos das Águas”, que deu ao compositor o Grammy Latino de melhor canção brasileira de 2006. As apresentações do Banga contam com suas canções, e de outros compositores da nova safra, além de clássicos da música brasileira, como Gil, Lenine, Alceu Valença, entre outros. O Bangalafumenga ministra sua Oficina de percussão na Parada da Lapa, RJ, em parceria com a Fundição Progresso, explorando toda a diversidade e riqueza dos ritmos brasileiros, como o Côco, a Ciranda, o Maracatú, o Samba. Na oficina, os três diretores do Banga (Rodrigo Maranhão, Thiago Di Sabbato, André Moreno) ensinam as técnicas dos instrumentos de bloco, como surdos, repiques e tamborins, além de musicalizar e formar "em casa" os batuqueiros do Bloco. Que vem ganhando força a cada ano, já conta com mais de 70 integrantes, e já está virando tradição no carnaval de rua do Rio. No mais, no dicionário, Bangalafumenga quer dizer um indivíduo sem importância, um "João Ninguém". Na tradição do nosso samba, era o nome dado às casas do Rio Antigo que abrigavam as batucadas, numa época em que carregar um violão ou batucar era caso de polícia.
