Eek-a-Mouse nome artístico de Ripton Hylton, (Kingston, Jamaica, em 19 de Novembro de 1950) é um cantor jamaicano, uma das primeiras estrelas do reggae no país. Um artista que em qualquer outro país teria sido um one-hit admira, na Jamaica tornou-se um nome local por terem inventado um novo estilo vocal. Sua primeira incursão no mundo da música foi como um cantor roots. É responsável pelo sub-género de reggae conhecido como singjaying, e ficou famoso por ter feito mais de 200 shows em um ano nos Estados Unidos da América, Países Baixos, Alemanha, Reino Unido e Índias Ocidentais. Começou a dar os seus primeiros passos no reggae, quando ainda estava na faculdade. O Tull foi criado e liderado pelo genial guitarrista flautista vocalista compositor Ian Anderson (nascido em 1947 na Escócia), e teve vários nomes (Blades, John Evan Band, Navy Blue, etc.) antes de chegar ao nome de um fazendeiro (Jethro Tull) que inventou uma técnica agrícola nova no século XVIII. O primeiro álbum, This Was (1968), tinha na formação Ian Anderson, Mick Abrahams na guitarra, Clive Bunker na bateria e Glen Cornick no baixo. Abrahams também participou da composição desse disco, mas Anderson já era o membro dominante do grupo, e semanas depois do lançamento Mick saiu, tendo dois substitutos logo depois, um deles sendo Tony Iommi, que depois faria sucesso no Black Sabbath. Iommi ficou uma semana no Jethro Tull, chegando a aparecer no show "Rock ‘n Roll Circus" dos Rolling Stones, tocando "A Song for Jeffrey" com o Tull. Seguiram-se os álbuns Stand Up (1969) e Benefit (1970), que proporcionaram aumento da popularidade do Tull. Stand Up marca a primeira participação do maestro David Palmer em um disco do Jethro Tull, proporcionando arranjos orquestrados. Palmer iria aparecer em todos os álbuns seguintes, até juntar-se oficialmente à banda em 1977. Em 1971, sendo a formação Ian Anderson, Martin Barre, Clive Bunker, John Evans nos teclados e Jeffrey Hammond-Hammond no baixo, foi lançada a obra-prima do Tull: Aqualung. Desde o segundo álbum as letras de Ian Anderson vinham ficando mais sérias, mas em Aqualung suas letras chegaram ao ponto que ele queria. O álbum trata da distinção entre Deus e a religião, a relação do homem com Deus, e como a religião interfere nessa relação. Musicalmente eles se distanciaram do blues de suas origens e fizeram um som mais próximo ao hard rock e heavy metal (com magníficos riffs de Barre) mas recheado de influências folk. O grande público se identificou com o tema da alienação que permeia esse trabalho conceitual. Aqualung foi um dos maiores sucessos do rock "cerebral". Em 1972, saiu Thick as a Brick, considerado por muitos o melhor disco do Tull. A banda entrou de cabeça no rock progressivo dos anos 70, sendo Thick as a Brick uma obra complexamente estruturada, consistindo de uma única música (dividida em duas partes) que seria o poema de garoto-prodígio de oito anos sobre a sociedade, com várias imagens surrealistas e comentários ferinos. A aceitação entre o público e a crítica continuou grande ao longo da grande carreira do Jethto Tull, que com o seu estilo extremamente peculiar (caracterizado pela flauta de Ian Anderson) tem uma legião de fãs cativos. The Tull was created and led by the brilliant guitarist singer songwriter flutist Ian Anderson (born in 1947 in Scotland), and had several names (Blades, John Evan Band, Navy Blue, etc.) before arriving at a farmer's name (Jethro Tull ) who invented a new agricultural machinery in the eighteenth century. The first album, This Was (1968), I had in the formation Ian Anderson, Mick Abrahams on guitar, Clive Bunker on drums and Glen Cornick on bass. Abrahams also participated in the composition of the disk, but Anderson was already the dominant member of the group, and weeks after the release Mick came out, having two substitutes soon after, one of them being Tony Iommi, who later would succeed in Black Sabbath. Iommi spent a week in Jethro Tull, getting to appear on the show "Rock 'n Roll Circus" by the Rolling Stones, playing "A Song for Jeffrey" with Tull. This was followed by the album Stand Up (1969) and Benefit (1970), which gave rise in popularity of Tull. Stand Up marks the first participation of Maestro David Palmer on a disc of Jethro Tull, providing orchestral arrangements. Palmer would appear on all subsequent albums, to officially join the band in 1977. In 1971, with the formation of Ian Anderson, Martin Barre, Clive Bunker, John Evans on keyboards and Jeffrey Hammond-Hammond on bass, was launched to work raw Tull: Aqualung. Since the second album's lyrics Ian Anderson had been getting more serious, but his lyrics Aqualung reached the point he wanted. The album deals with the distinction between God and religion, man's relationship with God, and how religion interfere in this relationship. Musically they distanced themselves from the blues of their origins and made a sound closer to hard rock and heavy metal (with magnificent riffs Barre) but filled with folk influences. The general public identified with the theme of alienation that pervades this conceptual work. Aqualung was one of rock's greatest hits "brain". In 1972, he left Thick as a Brick, considered by many the best disc Tull. The band went headfirst into the progressive rock of the 70s, being Thick as a Brick one intricately structured work, consisting of a single song (in two parts) that would be the eight-year-old prodigy poem about the company, with several Surrealists and hurtful comments images. The acceptance among the public and the criticism continued large along the great career of Jethto Tull, who with his extremely peculiar style (characterized by Ian Anderson flute) has a legion of fans captives. A história da banda começa com os irmãos Andria e Ivan Busic formando suas primeiras bandas, Platina (1984) e Cherokee (1988), respectivamente. Em 1989, tocam como banda de apoio na gravação do disco solo do recém saído guitarrista da banda Radio Taxi Wander Taffo. Dois anos depois, é formada a banda Taffo, agora não mais como um solo de Wander Taffo, mas sim como uma banda. Gravam o belíssimo CD Rosa Branca. Como convidado, Andria sai em turnê com a banda Ultraje a Rigor. Os Busic juntam-se a Eduardo Ardanuy, que já havia tocado em bandas como Anjos da Noite e Chave do Sol. Tornam-se a banda de apoio do vocalista Supla (ex-Tokyo). Após um disco e alguns shows, o trio decidiu que era hora de investir na própria carreira. Já com o nome de Dr. Sin, viajam aos Estados Unidos para distribuir e divulgar seu trabalho, agendando até algumas apresentações. Em 1992, assinam um contrato com a multinacional Warner Music. Em 1993, o festival Hollywood Rock atraia milhares de fãs do bom e velho rock, o Dr. Sin toca na mesma noite de bandas como Nirvana e L7. Abrem também o show do vocalista do Deep Purple, Ian Gillan. Neste mesmo ano, a Warner lança o álbum Dr. Sin em 9 países, obtendo ótima repercussão. A faixa Emotional Catastrophe obteve grande sucesso nas paradas musicais, veiculação de clipes na MTV, e acabou virando parte da trilha sonora do seriado brasileiro da TV Cultura chamado Confissões de Adolescente.
