Lisa Jane Stansfield nasceu no dia 11 de abril de 1966, em Manchester, na Inglaterra. Aos 11 anos, mudou-se com a família para a cidade de Rochdale. A música sempre esteve presente em sua vida, sua mãe sempre colocava para as três filhas discos de Diana Ross, The Supremes, Marvin Gaye e Barry White. Desde pequena, Lisa costumava cantar pela casa. A primeira experiência com um público não familiar foi aos 14 anos, quando participou de um concurso de talentos em uma TV local. Ela ganhou na categoria cantora e se apresentou no programa. The Strokes é uma banda de indie rock formada em 1998 em Nova Iorque, Estados Unidos. Eles alcançaram grande notoriedade nos primeiros anos da década de 2000 como líderes do movimento de garage rock revival. Os membros da banda são Julian Casablancas (vocais), Nick Valensi (guitarra), Albert Hammond, Jr. (guitarra), Nikolai Fraiture (baixo) e Fabrizio Moretti (bateria e percussão). Em 1984, os adolescentes Dexter Holland e Greg Kriesel, que eram colegas de ginásio em Huntington Beach, resolveram formar uma banda após saírem de um concerto da banda de projeção local Social Distortion. Mais tarde, Kevin “Noodles” Wasserman foi chamado para banda pelo seu infame talento de conseguir bebidas alcoólicas para os integrantes da banda, na época menores de idade. Foi em 1998 que o Offspring voltou a estourar nas paradas com o lançamento do álbum “Americana” e dos singles “She’s Got Issues”, “Why Don’t You Get a Job”, “The Kids Aren’t Alright” (paródia de The Kids Are Alright, do The Who) e “Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)”, que segundo a revista Rolling Stone era na época a música mais pirateada da Internet. Em outubro de 1994, Reinaldo Nascimento entrou no lugar de Diumbanda (vocal) e ao lado de Mário (pandeiro), Edson (percussão), Felicidade (bateria), Plis (baixo), Paulo Xamusca (cavaquinho e guitarra), Xande (teclados), Macaco (surdo) e Débora e Alessandra (backing vocals) gravou o primeiro disco, "Terra Samba Faz Bem". O disco não teve maior repercussão, contendo um repertório de músicas suaves. Aos poucos, o grupo foi incorporando uma linha mais percussiva e vendeu 80 mil cópias do segundo CD, "Deus é Brasileiro" (96). Um ano depois, o álbum "Liberar Geral", ganhou um Disco de Ouro (100 mil cópias vendidas). Foi com o CD "Ao Vivo e a Cores" gravado em 1998, que o Terra Samba estourou nacionalmente, puxado por regravações e quatro músicas inéditas, destacando-se "Liberar Geral" (Edybinho e Reinaldo Nascimento), "Tô Fraco" (Clóvis Cruz e Santa) e "Carrinho de Mão" (Julinho Carioca/ Renan Ribeiro), todas com direito a coreografias inventadas pela banda.
