Donna Summer, foi uma cantora pop norte-americana mais conhecida por suas gravações em estilo disco dos anos 70, que deram a ela o título de Rainha da Disco. Apesar de ser uma das mais conhecidas artistas da “Era Disco’”, seu repertório incluiu diversos gêneros, incluindo “rhythm’n blues” e rock, tendo ganho prêmios “Grammy” nestas categorias. Seu trabalho ainda é aplaudido pela crítica e ela permanece como uma das poucas artistas da Era Disco’ ainda aceitas pela crítica atual. Summer começou cantando no coral da igreja que freqüentava. Grupo de samba e axé music formado originalmente por Denny (voz), André Neves (voz), Balbino do Rojão (surdo), Reuber (pandeiro), Magninho (baixo), Ricardo Valverde (guitarra), Léo (teclados), Rogério (bateria), Neném Batucada (percussão) e Coisita (percussão) em Salvador. O grupo começou a fazer sucesso em abril de 1999, quando a música "O pinto" foi parar numa rádio da cidade. Uma semana depois, já era a mais pedida e tocada nas rádios da capital da baiana. O CD de estréia saiu pela gravadora BMG e contou com os sucessos "O pinto", de Denny e André Neves, "Juliana", "Bom Bom" e "Desengonçado". Essas músicas foram sucesso na Bahia, onde o grupo conquistou uma legião de fãs, que somavam cerca de vinte mil pessoas em média em seus shows. NO CD também foi incluído um rap chamado "Rap das crianças", composição que Carla Perez selecionou para o repertório de seu primeiro CD.
