Default é uma banda canadense de post-grung/alternative rock originária de Vancouver, British Columbia. Soulfly é uma banda de Nu Metal / Groove Metal / Thrash Metal / Death Metal formada em 1997 no estado do Arizona, EUA pelo brasileiro Max Cavalera, após sair da banda Sepultura em 1997. Os motivos reais de sua saída nunca foram realmente esclareci- dos, apesar da versão mais divulgada dar notícia de que sua saída estaria atrelada a não renovação da empresária da banda e esposa de Max. Ele teria se sentido traído por seus companheiros de banda, e resolveu deixá-los… Dando sequência a sua carreira, o vocalista cria o Soulfly, uma banda que continua a explorar os elementos presentes no seu último álbum a frente do Sepultura, o Roots. Porém, no Soulfly, Max apresenta estas novas vertentes de forma mais intensa, apresentando um Metal mais Moderno, com influências desde Nu Metal até música Indígena / Tribal, privilegiando acima de tudo, os ritmos brasileiros. O auto-intitulado álbum, Soulfly lançado em 1998, alcançou a marca de Número 79 na Billboard 200. O disco foi gravado em Malibu, na Califórnia e lançado pela gravadora Roadrunner Records. O álbum Primitive, de 2000, foi produzido por Sean Lennon, filho do Ex-Beatle John Lennon e de Yoko Ono. A formação da banda conta com Marc Rizzo na Guitarra, Tony Campos no Baixo e Zyon Cavalera na Bateria. Porém a continuação do Soulfly tornou-se incerta, devido a reunião de Max com seu irmão Igor Cavalera, que também deixou o Sepultura. Juntos, os brothers gravaram o álbum Inflikted, do projeto de Max chamado Cavalera Conspiracy, lançado em 2008. O Lampirônicos foi criado em 1998, com um show do grupo no projeto Julho em Salvador. Em novembro de 1999, iniciou a gravação de seu primeiro CD de forma independente, o qual só seria lançado em 2001: Que Luz é Essa?, pela gravadora Sony Music. O álbum conta com participações de Carlinhos Brown (padrinho da banda), Alceu Valença e Dominguinhos. Em 2004, a banda lança o seu segundo CD: Toda Prece, pela Trama. No ano seguinte, o Lampirônicos participou do projeto Disco de Ouro do Sesc Pompéia, onde também participaram nomes como Luís Melodia, Elza Soares e Baby do Brasil. O evento homenageou o disco Acabou Chorare, dos Novos Baianos.
