Black Label Society é uma banda de Heavy/Sludge/Southern Metal criada em Los Angeles, EUA por Zakk Wylde, ex-guitarrista de Ozzy Osbourne. A banda teve início em maio de 1998, quando Zakk Wylde chama o baterista Phil Ondich recomendado por seu amigo Nick Catanese para tocar com ele em um concerto solo na Itália, Zakk e Phil decidiram chamar a banda de "Hell's Kitchen" (bairro de periferia de Nova York) e o seu primeiro álbum de "Sonic Brewery". Entretanto, por não conseguirem uma marca registrada para "Hell's Kitchen", o nome da banda foi trocado por Black Label Society, e o nome do primeiro álbum mudado para "Sonic Brew". Após o lançamento do segundo álbum da banda, Stronger Than Death (2000), DeServio decide deixar a banda para ir atrás de outros objetivos pessoais e a vaga foi preenchida por Steve "S.O.B." Gibb, filho de Berry Gibb dos BeeGees. Phil passou por alguns problemas de saúde, o que interferia negativamente nos shows da banda, e foi então substituído por Craig Nunenmacher (Crowbar, banda em turnê com o BLS). Em julho de 2000, Craig grava seu álbum de estréia no Black Label Society: Alcohol Fueled Brewtality Live. Steve Gibb foi temporariamente substituído por Mike Inez do Alice in Chains durante a turnê do Ozzfest 2001. Robert Trujillo assumiu as linhas de baixo da banda no ano de 2002, lançando o álbum que originalmente se chamaria "Deathcore Warmachine Eternal", entretanto, devido aos acontecimentos de 11 de Setembro de 2001 o CD foi lançado com outro nome, "1919 Eternal", no dia 5 de março de 2002. James LoMenzo se juntou a banda em 2004, participando da gravação de algumas faixas do álbum Hangover Music Vol. VI, o último da banda lançado pela Spitfire Records. Black Label Society is a band of Heavy / Sludge / Southern Metal raised in Los Angeles, USA by Zakk Wylde, former guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne. The band began in May 1998 when Zakk Wylde calls the drummer Phil Ondich recommended by his friend Nick Catanese to play with him in a solo concert in Italy, Zakk and Phil decided to call the band "Hell's Kitchen" (low income suburb New York) and his first album "Sonic Brewery". However, for failing a trademark for "Hell's Kitchen", the band's name was changed to Black Label Society, and the name of the first album changed to "Sonic Brew". After the release of the second album, Stronger Than Death (2000), DeServio decides to leave the band to pursue other personal goals and the vacancy was filled by Steve "SOB" Gibb, son of Berry Gibb of the BeeGees. Phil has had some health problems, which interfered negatively in the shows of the band, and was replaced by Craig Nunenmacher (Crowbar, band touring with BLS). In July 2000, Craig recorded his debut album in Black Label Society: alcohol fueled brewtality Live. Steve Gibb was temporarily replaced by Mike Inez of Alice in Chains during the tour of Ozzfest 2001. Robert Trujillo took the low-band lines in 2002, releasing the album that originally would be called "Deathcore Warmachine Eternal", however, due to events of September 11, 2001 the CD was released under another name, "1919 Eternal", on 5 March 2002. In 2003, Trujillo joined Metallica, leaving open the bassist spot in Black Label Society, which gave space for Inez back the band for a short tour of two weeks, with the album The Blessed Hellride, which contains a song with special guest Ozzy, entitled "Stillborn". James Lomenzo joined the band in 2004, participating in the recording of some tracks on the album Hangover Music Vol. VI, the last band released by Spitfire Records. In 2005, after signing with Artemis Records, the Mafia was released. After the album's release, Lomenzo returned to Megadeth and was replaced by original bassist John DeServio. Ele foi um dos maiores cantores e compositores de sua geração, um soul man natural cuja música esteve profundamente absorvida por nossa cultura. Nascido em 1939, Marvin Gaye dedicou sua vida à música. Tanto foi que, apesar de ter sido um artista absolutamente genial e bem-sucedido profissionalmente, nunca teve grandes alegrias no lado pessoal. Gaye, porém, utilizava-se dos fracassos nos relacionamentos para compor canções de sucesso e álbuns que entraram para a história. Depois de passar por alguns grupos e adquirir experiência, lançou “The Soulful Moods Of”, em 1961, encantando a todos pela profundidade das harmonias e melodias em faixas como “How Deep Is The Ocean?” e “How High The Moon”. Durante todas a décadas de 60 e 70 continuou lançando clássicos e duetos com Mary Wells, Kim Weston e Tammi Terrell. São dessa fase discos como “Marvin & Mary Together”, de 1964, “Easy”, de 1969. A parceria com Tammi Terrell parece ter sido a mais dolorosa. Embora eles não fossem amantes - como a imprensa gostava de especular - a morte da cantora, vítima de um tumor no cérebro em 1970, deixou Marvin Gaye em depressão. “What’s Going On” de 1971, cuja canção homônima chegou a ser recusada pela gravadora que não a considerou comercial o suficiente, é outro marco na carreira do cantor. O ao vivo “Live!”, de 1974 e “Here My Dear”, de 1978, que falava sobre o fim de seu casamento com Anna, também tiveram ótima repercussão. Logo que seu divórcio foi concluído, casou-se com Janis Hunter, com quem ele teve dois filhos quando ainda era casado legalmente com Anna. Entrou na década de 80 em um dos melhores momentos de sua carreira, com “Midnight Love”, que trazia o ‘hit’ “Sexual Healing”. Marvin Gaye já era o principal artista da famosa gravadora Motown quando, infelizmente, um fato trágico fez o cantor se calar. No dia 1º de abril de 1984, véspera de seu aniversário, quando completaria 45 anos, Marvin Gaye foi assassinado pelo próprio pai, após um desentendimento familiar. De vez em quando surge uma nova promessa na música brasileira que, prontamente, ganha aceitação da crítica e do público e o apadrinhamento de algum artista veterano. A cantora e compositora Marcela Biasi preenche todos os requisitos e já é conhecida como a nova queridinha da MPB. A estréia, intitulada “Arrastando Maravilhas”, é bem simples, mas ao mesmo tempo traz arranjos refinados e uma certa sofisticação. Com a aprovação e a participação especial de Zélia Duncan (a quem o trabalho foi dedicado), a carioca Marcela Biasi chegou rapidamente ao seu primeiro contrato e já entrou na lista das músicas mais tocadas no Rio de Janeiro. A faixa-título, por exemplo, é o grande destaque do álbum, mas foi assinada por Kali C. e Alexandre Lemos. “Me Basta”, outra bastante comentada, conta com a ajuda e a voz de Zélia Duncan, enquanto que “O Que Penso” foi feita ao lado do violonista Torcuato Mariano, também responsável pela produção do disco. Adriana Calcanhotto compôs “O Amor Me Escolheu” e Biasi ainda gravou “Por Perto”, do Pato Fu. O fato é que “Arrastando Maravilhas” é, sim, um álbum muito bom para quem gosta de uma voz serena sobre bonitos acordes de violão e dedilhados de piano. Mas a impressão que fica é que isso se dá, principalmente, devido ao time de músicos e compositores escalados. Marcela Biasi acaba fazendo mais um papel de intérprete, já que as canções maior expressão não são dela. Talvez com mais algum tempo de estrada ela se sinta segura o suficiente para assumir a obra sozinha e deixar as participações e parcerias apenas como um atrativo e não como uma obrigação.
