Gary Moore nasceu em Belfast, capital da Irlanda do Norte. A vida de quem cresceu em meio às bombas do Ira e às brigas religiosas do pós-guerra refletia-se em seu som de guitarra: extremamente triste e sofrido, mas também visceral e técnico quando solicitado. Ele iniciou a trajetória profissional aos 16 anos de idade, tendo Eric Clapton, Peter Green e Jimi Hendrix como ídolos, e participando das gravações de um álbum da banda de folk Dr. Strangely Stranger. Pouco depois, Moore estava no Thin Lizzy (banda irlandesa), onde conheceu seu fiel comparsa, Mr. Phil Lynott. Iniciou sua trajetória musical quando, aos 18 anos, mudou-se para o Recife, a fim de estudar. Na capital pernambucana, juntou-se ao grupo folclórico Grupo Construção, do qual faziam parte Teca Calazans, cantora, Naná Vasconcelos, percussionista e Marcelo Melo e Toinho Alves, músicos do Quinteto Violado. Em 1967, mudou-se para o Rio de Janeiro, onde trabalhou com a cantora Eliana Pittman. Em seguida, juntou-se a Naná Vasconcelos, Nelson Ângelo e Franklin, formando o Quarteto Livre. O grupo acompanhou o cantor Geraldo Vandré em diversos shows, inclusive na emblemática "Caminhando". Devido a problemas políticos com a ditadura militar da época, o grupo se dissolveu. Em 1968, a cantora Eliana Pittman gravou a primeira composição de Geraldo Azevedo, "Aquela rosa". No incício dos anos 1970, formou dupla com o também pernambucano Alceu Valença. Ainda em 1970, a dupla participou do Festival Universitário da TV Tupi com as composições "78 rotações" e "Planetário". A boa performance da dupla chamou a atenção da gravadora Copacabana. Em 1972, lançou com Alceu Valença, seu primeiro LP. No mesmo ano, e ainda com o parceiro Alceu Valença, tomou parte do Festival Internacional da Canção, com a composição "Papagaio do futuro", que contou com a participação de Jackson do Pandeiro. Ainda com o parceiro Alceu e com Zé Ramalho, fez grande sucesso em fins dos anos 1970, com "Táxi lunar". Também no mesmo período fez grande sucesso com "Caravana", em parceria com Carlos Fernando e que fez parte da trilha sonora da novela "Gabriela", da TV Globo. Em seu trabalho faz um mistura entre as sofisticadas harmonias da Bossa Nova e a viva influência da música negra. É autor de composições de puro lirismo, como "Dia branco" e frevos embrasados, como "Tempo tempero" e "Pega fogo coração". Teve diversas músicas utilizadas em novelas e outros programas de televisão, entre os quais, "Juritis e borboletas", na novela "Saramandaia"e "Arraial dos tucanos", do seriado "Sítio do pica-pau amarelo", ambos na TV Globo. Em 1979 e 1980, participou do projeto coletivo de gravação de frevos, "Asas da América", volumes I e II. Em 1984, participou com os músicos Elomar, Vital Farias e Xangai, do Show "Cantoria", no Teatro Castro Alves, em Salvador, do qual resultou o disco "Cantoria I", gravado ao vivo, nos dias 13, 14 e 15 de agosto daquele ano. Nesse disco, interpretou "Novena", de sua autoria e M. Vinícius e "Semente de Adão", dele e Carlos Fernando, cantada em dueto com Xangai. Participou, ainda, como violonista em diversas faixas do disco. Em 1988, foi lançado o disco "Cantoria II". Em 1996, participou no Canecão, no Rio de Janeiro, do show "O grande encontro", ao lado de Alceu Valença, Elba Ramalho e Zé Ramalho. Do show resultou o CD "O grande encontro", onde interpretou "O ciúme", de Caetano Veloso, "Dia branco", de sua autoria e Renato Rocha, "Veja (Margarida)", de Vital Farias e "Chorando e cantando", dele e Fausto Nilo. Em 1997, gravou "O grande encontro II", com Elba e Zé Ramalho, no qual tocou viola e violão, além de interpretar canções como "O princípio do prazer", de sua autoria e "Canta coração", parceria com Carlos Fernando. Em 2006, prestes a completar 43 anos de carreira, realizou show na Lona Cultural Gilberto Gil, em Realengo, no Rio de Janeiro, repassando diversos clássicos de sua trajetória, como "Dia branco, e Táxi Lunar", entre outros. Nessa ocasião, a gravadora Biscoito Fino lançou a coletânea "100 anos de frevo - É de perder o sapato", uma coletânea com dois CDs, da qual participaram vários artistas consagrados da MPB, como Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Alceu Valença, Maria Bethânia, Elba Ramalho, Geraldo Azevedo, Silvério Pessoa, Geraldo Azevedo e Chico Buarque, entre outros. Em 2011, apresentou-se no evento "São João carioca", uma festa junina realizada pela prefeitura da cidade do Rio de Janeiro. Green Day é uma banda de Punk Rock dos Estados Unidos, formada em 1987 em East Bay, Califórnia. Amigos de infância, Billie Joe Armstrong (vocalista / guitarrista) e Mike Dirnt (baixo / vocal) formaram sua primeira banda, “Sweet Children”, em Rodeo, Califórnia, quando tinham 10 anos de idade. Eles inventaram uma forma de fazer música que influenciam até hoje uma legião de bandas jovens. Se conheceram quando estudavam, num colégio chamado Pinolle Valey High School. Em 1988, o baterista John Kiffmeyer, mais conhecido como Al Sobrante, entra para a banda. Pouco depois, a Sweet Children assina contrato com o selo independente Lookout Records, da cidade de Berkely, Califórnia. Antes de gravar seu primeiro EP, 1000 Hours (1989), eles precisaram mudar o nome. O dono do selo, Larry Livermore, achou que poderia haver confusão de nomes com outra banda da cena de Bay Area, chamada Sweet Baby. Dizem que o nome Green Day (dia verde) veio por conta do grande consumo de maconha dos seus integrantes. Além disso, o Al Sobrante escreveu ‘Green Day’ em um moletom que costumava usar. Green Day is a band of Punk Rock in the United States, formed in 1987 in East Bay, California. Childhood friends Billie Joe Armstrong (vocals / guitar) and Mike Dirnt (bass / vocals) formed their first band, "Sweet Children" in Rodeo, California when they were 10 years old. They invented a way to make music that influence to this day a legion of young bands. They met while studying at a college called Pinolle Valey High School. In 1988, drummer John Kiffmeyer, better known as Al Sobrante, joins the band. Soon after, Sweet Children signs contract with independent label Lookout Records, the city of Berkeley, California. Before recording their first EP, 1000 Hours (1989), they had to change the name. The label owner, Larry Livermore, found that there could be confusion with another band names of the scene of the Bay Area, called Sweet Baby. They say the name Green Day (Green Day) came because of the large consumption of marijuana of its members. In addition, Al Sobrante wrote 'Green Day' in a sweatshirt that used to use.
