Joe Satriani começou a carreira tocando bateria. Porém, após a morte de Jimi Hendrix, começou a tocar guitarra. Satriani foi professor de alguns guitarristas famosos em todo o mundo, tais como: Alex Skolnick, Kirk Hammett e Steve Vai. Teve também uma relação curiosa com Steve Vai sendo que Satriani ensinou Steve a colocar cordas em uma ponte de guitarra modelo Floyd Rose. Em 1984 Satriani gravou um EP com o seu próprio nome contendo 5 músicas em que havia apenas guitarras. Steve Vai, seu amigo e ex-aluno, consegue para Joe um contrato com a Relativity Records, e na mesma época lança seu primeiro álbum: "Not of This Earth". A sua fama porém veio com o disco "Surfing with the Alien". Álbum que lhe rendeu milhões de vendas ao redor do mundo e sua primeira indicação ao Grammy. Em dezembro de 1993, após a saída de Ritchie Blackmore do Deep Purple, ele juntou-se à banda e participou da turnê internacional pelo Japão. Com o sucesso dos shows, Satriani foi convidado pelos demais integrantes para permanecer como membro efetivo dela, mas declinou, mais preocupado com sua carreira solo e com o contrato para um multi-álbum assinado com a Sony. Mas antes disso, ainda chegou a participar da turnê européia como guitarrista da banda em 1994, fazendo seu último show em julho, na Áustria. Aprendeu a tocar guitarra e piano aos dez anos de idade. Lançou o seu primeiro album Closing Time em 1973 e começou por fazer a primeira parte de shows de Frank Zappa e John Hammond. Seu nome verdadeiro é Militana Salustino do Nascimento, mas ficou conhecida em todo o Brasil como Dona Mlitana. Ela chegou a gravar um CD com o título “Cantares”. Considerada a maior romancista de todo o Brasil esta humilde mulher de São Gonçalo do Amarante (RN) gravou na memória todos os cantos aprendidos do pai, entre eles romances que contam histórias de reis, princesas e guerreiros. O nome de Dona Militana entrou em uma disputa acirrada com o nome do ex ministro e ex governador do RN Aluizio Alves, o motivo diz respeito ao nome que será batizado o aeroporto de São Gonçalo. Potiguares, internautas, jornalistas e até críticos da imprensa nacional defendem o nome de Dona Militana como o ideal para batizar o novo aeroporto do nosso estado. Lucky Dube nasceu no dia 3 de Agosto de 1964, em Ermelo, na África do Sul. Com 9 anos de idade, foi escolhido como assistente da biblioteca de sua escola. O desejo de aprender sobre o resto do mundo e sobre a história da África do Sul fez com que ele entrasse para o mundo da Literatura. Familiarizou-se com a filosofia Rastafari através de uma enciclopédia. Logo depois, conheceu o Reggae, que muito tinha a ver com o Rastafarianismo. Lucky Dube trabalhava para poder comprar os discos de Peter Tosh (que era, na ocasião, os únicos álbuns de Reggae disponíveis na África do Sul). Ainda na época do colégio, montou sua primeira banda - O Skyway Band. O talento de Lucky logo chamou a atenção do produtor Richard Siluma, que era seu parente. Em 1979, Lucky direcionou sua carreira como um cantor de mbaganga e junto com os membros do “Future Slaves” - Thutukani Cele e Chris Dlamini, gravou um álbum em 1982, já como membros da banda “The Love Brothers” intitulado Mbaganga. Nos próximos 3 anos, Lucky Dube lançou um álbum solo chamado “Lengane Ngeyetha” que trazia o seu primeiro single, diga-se de passagem, um grande sucesso. Na sequência, lançou mais três álbuns, dando continuidade à sua música brilhante. A maior influência de Lucky Dube era Peter Tosh. Durante o ano de 1985, sem o conhecimento de sua gravadora, Teal Records, Lucky e Richard entraram em estúdio para gravar “Rastas Never Die” - o primeiro disco de reggae gravado na África do Sul. Devido à situação política e à censura do governo (Apartheid) que controlava a mídia, o disco não foi longe. E ainda por cima, foi proibido imediatamente. O álbum ganhou consciência mas não vendeu bem. Em 1986, Lucky gravou o seu segundo álbum de reggae, “Think About The Children”. E foi justamente nessa época que a banda de apoio de Lucky Dube começou a se concretizar. No ano de 1987, é lançado o terceiro álbum, “Slave” - onde ele desponta grandes hits como “I’ve Got You Babe”, “Slave”, e “Back To My Roots”. Com a banda “The Slaves”, ele fez espetáculos enormes em Johannesburg para multidões de mais de 50.000 pessoas. Em 1988, devido a demanda popular, o disco “Rastas Never Die” foi relançado. Lucky embarcou na sua primeira viagem internacional para promover o álbum “Slave”. No ano de 1988, foi lançado o disco “Together As One”. Disco esse que trouxe, na faixa-título, uma letra baseada na situação da África do Sul. A letra pedia a união e a harmonia racial entre negros e brancos da África do Sul. Lucky cai na estrada novamente e se apresenta para multidões de mais de 65.000 expectadores. Em 1989, ele embarca em uma série de espetáculos na França. A partir daí, Lucky, merecidamente se estabelece como um artista de grande renome internacional. Este ano também deu a Lucky Dube a chance para gravar no filme “Voice In The Dark”. 1989 também foi o ano em que ele lançou o álbum “Prisoner”, que dentro de cinco dias, faturou disco de platina duplo. 1990 foi um ano em que ele fez shows na África. Num desses shows, levou 80.000 pessoas. Em 1991 Lucky foi para os Estados Unidos e fez uma apresentação histórica no palco do mais famoso festival de Reggae do mundo - o “Reggae Sunsplash Festival”, na Jamaica - a primeira vez que se realizou um grande sonho de um artista da África do Sul. A turnê seguiu para a Austrália, Japão e Gana. “Prisoner” foi o álbum mais vendido de Lucky Dube. Foram registradas 1.000.000 de cópias vendidas em todo o mundo.
