Fernando Mendes nasceu na cidade mineira de Conselheiro Pena em família pobre e desde a infância demonstrava o anseio pela carreira musical. Aos quinze anos de idade ganhou do pai um violão de presente de aniversário.[carece de fontes] Aos dezessete anos formou com alguns amigos um conjunto musical jovem chamado "Blue Boys", se apresentando em bailes e festas em sua cidade de origem. A carreira de Fernando Mendes começou concomitantemente à de José Augusto, com quem compôs e gravou algumas canções. Fernando Mendes inicia oficialmente sua carreira musical no ano de 1972. A canção A Desconhecida foi seu primeiro sucesso; de sua própria autoria a música foi gravada em 1973 e lançada em compacto simples, subindo rapidamente às paradas de sucesso em várias rádios e emissoras de televisão. Sua primeira apresentação na TV foi no programa do Chacrinha, tornando o cantor conhecido em todo o Brasil. A música "Recordações" foi o segundo sucesso. Faixa de seu primeiro LP, em menos de três meses chegou à casa dos 100 mil discos vendidos. Em 1974 teve uma música censurada pela ditadura militar chamada "Meu Pequeno Amigo", que fazia referência ao caso Carlinhos, sequestro de grande repercussão na época e não elucidado até hoje. No entanto ele começou a fazer excursões pelo Brasil numa média de 10 a 15 cidades por mês. Transformado numa espécie de ídolo das massas populares o artista teve seu segundo LP lançado no final de 1974 voltando a repetir o feito dos anteriores com a música Ontem, Hoje, Amanhã. Fernando chegou ao auge de sua carreira em 1975 quando seu terceiro LP apresentou a faixa Cadeira de Rodas tendo alcançado a vendagem de mais de 250 mil LPs vendidos em poucos meses, rendendo-lhe vários prêmios, inclusive o disco de ouro. O ano de 1976 trouxe mais dois sucessos à carreira do cantor: A Menina da Calçada e Sorte Tem Quem Acredita Nela, que teve os arranjos de Hugo Bellard e foi tema da novela Duas Vidas exibida pela Rede Globo. Entre os prêmios que ganhou, está um disco de ouro e o "Prêmio Villa Lobos" de disco mais vendido de 1978 com a música Você Não Me Ensinou a Te Esquecer, canção que também contou com o arranjo de Hugo Bellard. Fernando Mendes was born in the mining town of Advisor Pena in poor family and from childhood showed the yearning for music career. At fifteen years old won his father a birthday present guitar. Transformed into a kind of idol of the masses the artist had his second LP released in late 1974 returning to repeat the feat of the previous with the song Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow. Fernando reached the peak of his career in 1975 when his third LP presented Wheelchair track reaching the bandage over 250,000 LPs sold in a few months, earning him numerous awards, including the gold. The year 1976 brought two more successes to the singer's career: The Promenade Girl Who Has Luck and believed it, had the Hugo Bellard arrangements and was the subject of the novel Two Lives displayed by Rede Globo. Among the awards he won, is a gold disc and the "Villa Lobos Prize" best selling album of 1978 with the song Do not You Taught Me to Forget You, song also featured the arrangement of Hugo Bellard. Incubus é uma banda de Rock Alternativo norte-americana, formada em Calabasas, na Califórnia, cujos membros atuais são Brandon Boyd (vocal e percussão), Mike Einziger (guitarra), Ben Kenney (baixo), Jose Pasillas (bateria) e DJ Kilmore (turntables).
