Twister é uma banda brasileira formada em 2000. A banda inicialmente era composta por Sander (guitarra), Léo (baixo), Luciano (teclado), Gilson (bateria) e Alex (guitarra). O grupo Twister surgiu depois da descoberta do vocalista Sander pelo empresário Hélio Batista em um bar de São Paulo. Nessa época, 1998, Sander tocava guitarra fazendo covers da banda Pearl Jam pelos bares da cidade. Ao receber a proposta do empresário, o próprio Sander saiu à procura dos outros integrantes para compor o grupo. Foi para Campinas fazer aulas de música onde conheceu Luciano e Gilson, e juntos formaram o Twister. De volta a São Paulo, o grupo começou a ensaiar todos os dias e a buscar uma gravadora. Em 1999 conheceram Leonardo, que aceitou integrar a banda depois de largar seu emprego em um estúdio. Já com a formação completa, em 2000 lançaram o álbum Twister, primeiro trabalho da banda gravado pela Abril Music. Em março de 2001 viajam para Los Angeles com uma proposta da gravadora para o lançamento do primeiro CD em espanhol. Mas, o ano de 2002 foi marcado por imprevistos que culminaram com a carreira do grupo: o fechamento oficial da gravadora Abril Music e a prisão de Sander por posse de drogas.
