Em meados de 1969, o desenvolvimento de um dos grupos mais interessantes da cena musical: Telegraph Avenue (que tomou seu nome de uma famosa avenida em San Francisco), a única banda de quatro peças que incluiu vocais melódicos que clarificaram sua música, Uma mistura de rock psicodélico com ritmos latinos. Telegraph Avenue foi formada com Bo Ichikawa e Chachi Luján nas guitarras , Alex Nathanson no baixo, e Walo Carrillo na bateria; Todos os membros também tocaram instrumentos adicionais nas gravações da banda. The Androids é uma banda de rock australiana liderada pelo guitarrista Tim Henwood. A banda lançou seu primeiro single (e maior sucesso) em 2002, “Do It With Madonna”. O clipe era completamente irreverente e tinha várias drag queens fantasiadas de divas do Pop como Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Pink e claro, Madonna. O single ficou em #4 nos charts autralianos e em #15 no Reino Unido, ajudando no lançamento do album “The Androids”. O segundo single, “Here She Comes” também foi um sucesso no país (#15) e entrou para a trilha sonora de “American Pie: O Casamento”. Twister é uma banda brasileira formada em 2000. A banda inicialmente era composta por Sander (guitarra), Léo (baixo), Luciano (teclado), Gilson (bateria) e Alex (guitarra). O grupo Twister surgiu depois da descoberta do vocalista Sander pelo empresário Hélio Batista em um bar de São Paulo. Nessa época, 1998, Sander tocava guitarra fazendo covers da banda Pearl Jam pelos bares da cidade. Ao receber a proposta do empresário, o próprio Sander saiu à procura dos outros integrantes para compor o grupo. Foi para Campinas fazer aulas de música onde conheceu Luciano e Gilson, e juntos formaram o Twister. De volta a São Paulo, o grupo começou a ensaiar todos os dias e a buscar uma gravadora. Em 1999 conheceram Leonardo, que aceitou integrar a banda depois de largar seu emprego em um estúdio. Já com a formação completa, em 2000 lançaram o álbum Twister, primeiro trabalho da banda gravado pela Abril Music. Em março de 2001 viajam para Los Angeles com uma proposta da gravadora para o lançamento do primeiro CD em espanhol. Mas, o ano de 2002 foi marcado por imprevistos que culminaram com a carreira do grupo: o fechamento oficial da gravadora Abril Music e a prisão de Sander por posse de drogas.
