Aerosmith é uma banda de hard rock e Rock n’ Roll formada em Boston, Massachusetts no início dos anos 70, tendo desfrutado de grande popularidade durante meados dos anos 70, final dos anos 80 e início da década de 90. O Aerosmith surgiu em 1969, da junção de duas outras bandas: os Chain Reaction de Steven Tyler (cujo nome artístico na época era Steve Tallarico) e The Jam Band de Joe Perry e Tom Hamilton. Chain Reaction possuia muita influência de Beatles e chegaram a gravar um demo que continha canções como “The sun” e “When I Needed You”. Joe Perry trabalhava em uma lanchonete e fritava batatas e hamburgueres para comprar discos, dirigia o furgão de sua mãe ouvindo Led Zeppelin e sonhava em ter uma banda. Steven Tyler, às vezes, comia na lanchonete onde Joe trabalhava e, um dia, aquele rapaz de cabelo curto e liso com um óculos escuro colado com fita adesiva, que limpava a sujeira que Steven Tyler fazia na lanchonete, foi visto pelo mesmo tocando “Rattlesnake Shake” com sua banda The Jam Band. A formação original incluía Steven Tyler (vocal), Joe Perry (guitarra) e Tom Hamilton (baixo), tendo mais tarde entrado para a banda Ray Tabano como segundo guitarrista, e posteriormente Brad Whitford (dos Earth Inc.), para desempenhar idênticas funções. Tyler, que originariamente era baterista e solista, tornou-se vocalista a tempo inteiro quando o baterista Joey Kramer se juntou ao grupo. Após alguns espectáculos ao vivo nos bares de Boston, que lhes proporcionaram fama imediata, os Aerosmith assinaram um contrato com a editora Columbia Records em 1972, gravaram o seu álbum de estreia Aerosmith em duas semanas e lançaram-no no mercado. Dele, se extraiu o single “Dream On”. Após uma primeira turnê a banda lançou Get Your Wings (1974), que também gozou de grande sucesso nas tabelas de vendas. Desde então, venderam mais de 100 milhões de discos em 23 álbuns e uma coleção de prémios (Grammys, American Music Awards, Billboard Awards, MTV Awards). Em 1975, a edição de Toys in the Attic fez deles definitivamente estrelas do Rock n’ Roll internacional. O álbum, uma mistura bem sucedida de Heavy Metal, Hard Rock e toques de Punk, constituiu um êxito imediato, tendo-se extraído dois singles (“Sweet Emotion” e “Walk This Way”). O álbum seguinte, Rocks, segundo vários fãs o melhor da banda, atingiu a platina e continha também dois grandes êxitos: “Back in the Saddle” e “Last Child”. Formada em 1991, por iniciativa do clarinetista, saxofonista, compositor e arranjador – Nailor Azevedo, o Proveta – e integrada por outros músicos que sempre estiveram muito próximos a ele, a Banda Mantiqueira percorre um caminho muito difícil no nosso cenário musical. No Brasil, sabe-se que o espaço para a música instrumental é ínfimo. Mas, mesmo assim, graças ao talento e a competência desses músicos, conseguiu sobreviver ao longo desses 13 anos ganhando, cada vez mais, o reconhecimento e o respeito do público e da crítica, nacional e internacional. Para formá-la, Proveta buscou por músicos que também ansiavam por uma linguagem que expressasse a brasilidade na forma de interpretar nossa música. Do universo dos compositores de música popular brasileira, selecionou peças de alguns dos mais notáveis – Pixinguinha, Tom Jobim, Jacob do Bandolim, Cartola, Nelson Cavaquinho, Ernesto Nazareth, João Bosco, Guinga, Luiz Gonzaga, Dorival Caymmi, Joyce, entre outros . Juntou a esse repertório composições suas e de Edson Alves e, brilhantemente, arranjou-as para a formação de big-band . Embora conte com excelentes solistas, valorizou mais o conjunto do que a individualidade. A Banda Mantiqueira começou tocando em bares. Primeiro, em temporada de alguns meses, no saudoso Sanja, templo musical por onde passou a nata dos instrumentistas de São Paulo. Depois, lotou por quatro anos, todas as segundas-feiras, o Vou Vivendo, também um local de boa música. Desde março de 1997, apresenta-se no Supremo Musical, todas as terças-feiras, sempre com casa lotada. Registra, ainda, apresentações em diversas unidades do Sesc-São Paulo; no Kaiser Bock Winter Festival, em 1997, tendo como convidados a cantora Gal Costa e os cantores Guinga e Sergio Santos; em Lisboa – Portugal, na Expo-98 e na Cidade do Porto, no Palácio do Jardim de Cristal; no Free Jazz Festival – Edição 1998, no Rio de Janeiro e em São Paulo. A convite do Maestro John Neschling, fez quatro concertos com a Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo, na Sala São Paulo, em dezembro de 2000. Em turnê nos Estados Unidos, em outubro de 2002, apresentou-se com a OSESP em Costa Mesa, na Califórnia e em Ann Arbor, em Michigan. Na mesma turnê, isoladamente, tocou no Festival de Jazz de San Francisco, Califórnia e na Northwestern University, em Evanston, Illinois, e fez por merecer elogiosas críticas publicadas no The Los Angeles Times e no Chicago Tribune. Como convidada do Maestro Yeruhan Scharovsky, apresentou-se, em junho de 2003, em concerto com a Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira, no Teatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro. Gravou 3 CDs: Aldeia (1996) e Bixiga (2000) ambos pelo selo Pau Brasil e com a Osesp o concerto apresentado na Sala São Paulo, em dezembro de 2000. O CD Aldeia foi nominado ao Grammy, em 1998. Criados em San Diego, Califórnia, quando o baixista e vocalista Mark Hoppus e o guitarrista e também vocalista Tom DeLonge se juntaram ao baterista Scott Raynor. Após alguns anos de ensaios e apresentações, lançam as demos "Flyswatter" em 1992 e “Buddha” em 1994. A demo "Buddha" foi lançada pelo selo Kung Fu Records, de propriedade dos The Vandals. No ano seguinte, sai o “Cheshire Cat”, já pela Cargo Records. Após esse álbum, ocorreu uma mudança inesperada com o nome do grupo que, até então se chamava apenas Blink. Conseguindo já bastante popularidade nos Estados Unidos e em grande parte da Europa, ficam sabendo que esse nome já pertencia a um outro grupo de música eletrônica da Irlanda e para evitar maiores problemas, acrescentam o número 182. O significado desse número já foi muito especulado. Uma das mais conhecidas é que esse número faz referência ao número de vezes que o ator Al Pacino diz a palavra Fuck no filme "Scarface", porém a própria banda insiste em manter o motivo do sufixo em segredo. Em 1998 o baterista Scott Raynor é substituído por Travis Barker, e o blink volta ao estúdio para gravar o "Enema of the State", primeiro álbum em que Travis participa. Após lançarem mais dois álbuns ("Take Off Your Pants And Jacket", em 2001, e "blink-182", em 2003), no dia 22 de Fevereiro de 2005, a banda anunciou um hiato por tempo indeterminado. Mark Hoppus e Travis Barker seguiram com o +44 e Tom DeLonge formou o Angels & Airwaves. Em 20 de setembro de 2008, o baterista Travis Barker sofreu um grave acidente de avião que matou quatro das seis pessoas que estavam à bordo. Entre os sobreviventes estavam Travis e seu amigo DJ AM. Os dois tinham um projeto chamado TRV$DJAM. Por causa desse acidente, Tom DeLonge voltou a falar com Mark e Travis, e no dia 8 de Fevereiro de 2009, após quase 4 anos separados, o trio apareceu em público novamente no Grammy Awards e anunciou que voltariam a tocar juntos, deixando todas as brigas de lado.
